Babel Bike is claimed to be the safest bicycle ever built. gizmag

Would you purchase and/or ride Babel eBike? And if you would, would it be for safety?

Hmm Babel, something seems a little fishy, would rather hitch hike than get hit by a ford prefect and end up with "halfa" dent :)

I really tried to work Zaphod Beeblebrox in there, but I just couldn't do it :( ...

back on topic, I'd ride that, wouldn't be too hard to make that weather proof, and perhaps a little more aerodynamic.

I would like to try it at least once, it's a very odd looking thing though.

Odd is right; I'm a bit concerned with that higher center of gravity causing handling issues, unless of course you want to strap some canvas on the back of the body frame and make it a sailing bike. :p

Makes me smile first thing in the morning, appreciate the comedy! Riding the "safest bike in the world" .... without a helmet!!

I guess being strapped in, and having the roll cage around you might make the helmet redundant?

Don't understand how this bike could be considered the safest of any bike? It's 2 wheels, the rider is exposed. Just not seeing it. <shrug>

It's the whole concept of "passive safety" vs "active safety". You might be marginally safer if a car crashed into you, but "marginally" doesn't mean much in that circumstance!

I would rather be able to look around and see where I'm at more clearly - active safety.

Security conscious? .. well it looks a bit odd, not sure any self respecting theif would make off with it. :)

Conscious? The real news is kinda downplayed there: the very first sentient bicycle should be a huge sensation.
Sorry Paul, I didn't feel it, I don't expect the bike feels it, I guess the writer or bike seller feel it is! I just copied and pasted it;)
