I unboxed and assembled my Pace 500 standard and took it for a test ride, which was great. However, a few minutes into the ride the display stopped showing the speed and distance. It showed everything else. Every suggestion on how to fix is very appreciated!

First thought is that the internal speed/sensor signal from the motor is not getting to the display or controller.
Unplug the cable from the motor along the chain stay and reseat. Unplug the display from the harness and reseat. If that does not work, find the controller and unplug the main harness going to the display and reseat.

Hope it is that simple.

Thanks Tom. I had unplugged the connector on the right side (looking forward) of the display and reseated it - no luck. I will try the connector along the chainstay. I was a little wary to do that because the connection is so secure, but I'll give it a shot based on your guidance. If that doesn't work, I'll unplug and reconnect the harness from the controller. Thank you for taking the time to consider my plight and for your helpful advice.

Update: I received the replacement display and experienced the same problem. Aventon says it's the speed sensor inside the rear wheel is faulty. They're sending a replacement.
