Any update on City Commuter?

Hi Pushkar and WW fans!
Last I heard was maybe a Q4 release. I'm waiting for it as my first eBike! Let us know what we can do to help get it launched!

BTW, would adding a torque sensor to the specs drive the price up too much?

Thank you for the kind words.

Yes we are tracking a Q4 release. I will have pictures of the prototypes soon (frame is being painted next week) and I will post pics once assembled. The prototype will get here in 2-3 weeks after that.

The bafang ultra motor already has a torque sensor! Yay.

Please feel free to ask any questions - I will try to answer them as best as I can and will lean on the strong community of WW customers who probably know more about stuff than I do They can also share their ride / buying / CS experience as well.

Is he asking about the City Commuter or Ultimate Commuter Pro? If it’s City Commuter, I thought that was supposed to be the M600 motor. Has that changed to Ultra motor?

Oh! Sorry. Yeah, city commuter is Q4. No change yet.
its 95 F in Boston today. Heat is getting to me.

yes, sorry, i was asking about the delayed City Commuter (title edited)

so that’s going to be a bafang m600, no torque sensor, right?

That is the goal. With the new controller the m600 will be plenty for anyone wanting a nice, very responsive system.

if anyone is in the same boat, what attracts me to the upcoming City Commuter is belt drive, multi speed, disc brakes, more than 30 mile range, less than 50 pounds, class 3 speed. only thing i would cut is the throttle; i like pedaling!

similar belt ebikes i’d consider lack some of those things: embark (slower, more $), luna stealth (lower range, short warranty, no fenders or rack), evelo aurora limited (heavier, slower, more expensive), giant lafree e+1 (lower power, but less expensive, this is probably still a contender)

that smooth archon controller would really separate this bike from the lighter cheaper but low range/low power bikes below (vanmoof s3, ride1up roadster v2, luna stealth), and the heavy expensive bikes above (priority embark, evelo aurora limited, riese and muller).

seems like a good marketing sweet spot!

I believe you can leave the throttle uninstalled if you’d like.
