I really want to get into RC flying but I live within 5 miles of a small airport and the FAA regulations make it too prohibitive.

I did RC helicopters for awhile god what a huge learning curve but they had small ones so it was easy in smaller areas. but so much crashing my hands are not really precise and I would often lose orientation. but it was a blast flying backward and upside down. but it was too much money and I had to go farther to fly and that was a lot of wasted time.

Yeah, RC flying is a great hobby as long as you don't run afoul of some FAA regulation. If caught violating one, the fines can be steep. I live so close to an airport, I feel like I have to file a flight plan when jumping off my deck into the pool.

Since 2011. Now flying at home mostly planes and helicopters in 3D.

There is a lot of less than 250 gr. quality planes and helicopters that are not FAA regulated and could be flown almost anywhere.

Just an FYI,..
You can install a FPV camera on your RC plane, helicopter, or car and fly/drive it while looking through the windshield of your RC machine.
