Another new TQ motor: hpr40

So after many months of haunting the Canyon website the Endurace Onfly suddenly became available in my size today. Sadly it’s the Stealth black when I would have preferred the White but this is still not available and has been pushed back to November. Quickly convincing myself that I can love a black bike too, I pushed the order button and am now waiting for delivery in July. Unfortunately I am out of the country until August so will have to wait a bit longer for my first ride but am pretty stoked to finally get this on order after first seeing Yako’s review back in October last year.

Captain I’ll pop back and ride it for you, never fear.

Which model/version/tier? Tell me you splurged on the Sub 10! Need a photo of you holding it up with just your little finger!

Sadly (luckily) the sub10 isn’t made in my size 2XS. I’ve ordered the CF8 as the 105 version is not showing any availability - not even a long delivery date at the moment. Happy to have the ultegra group set but may sell the wheels as I already have a set of super light Hunts and I would hope that selling a brand new set of DT Swiss will go some way towards bringing my outlay back towards the cost of the CF7.

I'd like to add a handlebar-mounted assist control remote to my 2023 BMC Road machine AMP X (TQ HPR50 system and V01 display). At first I was not switching assist levels much, but now that I have set assist levels way down (30W,60W,100W) I find myself switching levels more to adjust to grade/speed/headwind)

It appears the current options are:
  • TQ Remote V02 (listed for flat bars)
  • TQ Remote V03 (listed for drop bars)
  • TREK Domane buttons (2) with special splitter cable ?
Does anyone know the actual difference between the V02 and V03 remotes? Is it only the clamp diameter/mounting hardware, or are there other differences?

For those using the V03 on a drop-bar bike:
  • Is it intended to mount near the stem/top of the bar, or can it be mounted on the side/underside of the bar behind the hood so it can be operated with your thumb while keeping your hands on the hoods?

I have a V02 remote and a V04 color display. Works fine. I change assist levels enough to not want to take my hands off of the bars.

As for mounting the V03 on drop bars, they would have to be conventional round bars. not aero top bars. The remote itself is fairly bulky, it needs a strong press to select, and it's wired. It's a bit big next to one side of the hoods. I would not like it, but it's cheap enough to try.
