Another ebike description of thieving Surron riders

Yes, victim blaming is used all too much these days, but there are circumstances where idiocy lessens the meaning of the phrase.

Just another reason not to walk around while texting.
…and if you have headphones in, you’ll never hear an ebike come up on you. People should really be always aware of the space around them.

And if you are one of those people that walk around with your call on speaker phone that’s just as bad as having headphones in. Your ears are focused in n the loud speaker. The call so loud that you can’t heard anything else around you. You are also holding the phone in front of your mouth. Easy snag.

Funny when people complain about their privacy being invaded. Ffs, get your call off speaker while in public. I don’t want to hear about what they heard about from a friend over the weekend. I heard one guy, on public transit, give his credit card number to a shop. Like, I could be spending his money now.

Some people never learn, or just plain don’t want to.

I appreciate the difficulty, well actually the lack of motivation.
But making a certain crime more difficult always comes at some inconvenience to the public and simply moves on the criminals to the next victims.
If every phone was unstealable, these teen criminals would not give up and get a job.
Im imagining some utopia where criminals give up because everything stealable is locked in a giant vault and no one gets to have it.
That road leads to 'she was asking for it'.
Victim blaming knows no end game.
It can be applied to genocide, pretty well just has.

I gather from the internet that Brits don't really carry umbrellas everywhere. But maybe it's time to reconsider.

A brolly through the spokes could bring down a speeding Surron, leaving the theives at the mercy of an enraged umbrella-armed mob who'd rather have their mothers kidnapped than their phones. And you could use the hook end to snatch the snatchers right off the back — with the brolly brigade right there waiting for them.

Of course, busy city sidewalks full of vigilantes armed with sticks would open up a whole new host of problems. But it's fun to imagine.

It would appear the consensus is that London should be treated as the Savannah and the pedestrians should develop some kind of camouflage
or other defense abilities such as a thick hide, horns or speed while the Surron driving Lions are given free reign to prowl and attack.
The weak or those who drop their guard for a second have only themselves to blame.
Its a jungle out there people, but the good news is we are looking at banning Antelope meat, that should fix it. 😂

Haven't been to England since 2015, but one of my buddies in London got seriously injured by thieves on a scooter long before eBikes came on the scene.

The smash-and-grab tactic had nothing to do with e-bikes or mobile phones-- they stole his money-- and everything to do with speed and violence.

It should not be incumbent upon the survivors or tech manufacturers-- not that I have any love for them either-- to change their product designs to make the crimes seem less appealing to thieves. Irrespective of my personal politics, which even my closest friends and family members are at a loss to categorize or define, I don't have a problem with law enforcement or citizens doing seriously bodily harm to the attackers IF it's necessary to stop the crime or make an arrest.

It's weird how times have changed-- how the thieves now ride bikes instead of stealing them. In the '70s, muggers would literally grab the handlebars while you were riding at 20 MPH and grab the bike out from under you. It was interesting-- you, the rider, do a complete flip and land on your back in front of the bike, and then the muggers will go for your watch or wallet, which in my case, they were unable to extract.

In actually posted because of the continuing fuzzing of the border between ebike and electric motorcycle.

It seems strange it appears more in leftwing media, it reminds me of a mountainbiking chef I spoke to in Devon.
He said middle class people in England hate mountain bikes because they are encroaching on their bridleways and they see it as a working class hobby.

Did you know you can fit pedals to a Surron, take off the throttle, speed restrict it, and you have a 200lb bicycle that you can pedal 50ft without the battery.

We really need to address this issue before it spirals into a blanket ban, it doesnt matter how well built your battery is, people will start to reject all electric propulsionand it could easily spread to all rechargeable devices.

It is so good you have eventually understood that. A kudos to you!
