Amego electric bikes

Hi all ,
Does anyone own or have any thoughts or views on the Amego Infinite ebike ?
They are a Canadian company located in downtown Toronto. I can't find any reviews on this bike other than EBR on YouTube. I was hoping for some owner reviews.

HI There you may want the check the brand discussion thread. You are likely to get the answers there. I dont own one but know a couple that do. Basically you are getting a very similar bike to many others... have a look at Magnum for example. This doesnt make it a bad bike but do some research on after purchase support. I was in downtown Toronto last week and I see more Treks, Giants, mid drive and of course Rads than anything else.

Thanks for your reply ,
I will look for the thread you mentioned.

Sfrank, I’ve had my Amego Infinite Plus over this past summer and have thoroughly enjoyed each ride taken. I have had no problems at all with it. I ride 7 kms to work up and down several pretty good long hills. I know that’s not very long, but with my mountain bike I used to arrive dripping sweat with knees screaming at me from the torture (prior knee surgery)... not with the Infinite Plus. Yes, it is ‘only’ 500 watt motor, but in 8th gear at level 6 assist and pedalling, I cruise along at 35-38 km per hr, 40+ when pedalling hard. I have gotten to 55 km per hr once when pedalling hard and down hill, too fast for me on a bicycle - I used to to have a motorcycle, but sold it because cars don’t see you until it’s too late... Although I am only 5’6”, I find the Infinite Plus a very comfortable ride. Not sure if your local bike shop would work on ebikes, but Velocycle is a Mobile bike shop in a truck that comes to you. They assembled and set-up my wife’s RadCity, and came back for a tune up. I assembled my Amego, which was very easy (seat, pedals, handle bar, air), double check tightness of bolts. While I have not seen many reviews on the Infinite Plus, I am very happy with my choice. I did read many reviews of other bikes before choosing it. What caught my attention on the Infinite Plus: adjustable bar stem (comfortable reach), hydraulic brakes, optional bigger battery available (go big or stay home), fully equipped with fenders, rear rack and lights (wish the rear light was wired to battery, like the front), spring seat post, nice aluminum colour. All this while looking like a ‘normal’ bicycle. Kinda sound like a commercial, but I am happy with my Amego Infinite Plus.

I just realized that I had the wring name for the mobile bike shop. It was Velofix that assembled and later adjusted my wife’s RadCity Step Thru. Btw, One of the reasons that I didn’t buy a RadCity is that I did not like the look of a big battery sitting on the frame, instead of in it (partially) like the Amego.

Thanks for the in depth review of your Amego Infinite . I appreciate your views and your thoughts on this ebike . Can you recommend a trailer hitch bike carrier ?

I think that when was doing my research on which ebike to buy there was an Infinite and an Infinite Plus. Going by my memory (which is not always guaranteed correct), I think that that the Plus had hydraulic brakes and a suspension seat post over the ‘older’ model... that being said I was looking at many different ebikes at the time and may be getting mixed-up.
It appears that amegoev.com only lists Infinite Plus models now.

The bike is likely a solid sturdy model as all uber eats guys use it. I have not driven the bike but chatted with a dozen or more uber eats guys outside amego waiting for repairs/support.
However, my experience was a disaster. The worst customer support, disorganized leadership and complete disdain to customers once you buy the bike. I was sold a wrong size stromer st1. Check out similar bikes and buy them from other vendors. My take, possibly biased.

We are ALL biased, based on our own experiences. You did not have a good experience, while I have no complaints at all. Although It’s disappointing to hear of your problems with your purchase, I can only speak for myself. I did have some post purchase interactions with Amego, all questions answered quickly and professionally. I’ve read that the Stromer is a good bike, I hope you are able to enjoy it even if it’s not exactly what you wanted.
