As a normal bike rider who has a minor issue with overheating, I am really looking towards a good al rounder ebike to handle both my home-work traffic and some off roading which I want to get a start at. I am EU based currently in this rather flat place, but I am looking at a move in not to much of a time span to somewhere a little more hilly. I am a tall person with long legs so anything small is a no go and I do carry some weight around naturally, plus a little excess I am working on reducing. That that I am not to worried about it as long as we avoid aluminum rims and spokes in the wheels, those can and will bend, but I have zero issue with standard steel stuff.
Naturally legally the limit is 250W 25Kph around these parts, but this may be wonderfully ignored. I am not looking to go 40+, but I normally go 30-35Kph regulary on my way home on my unsupported bike when I do not have to worry about arriving like I just rode through a thunderstorm. The main reason to want support is to deal with this heat issue and also rain as well a lot of the times something that stops the rain from making you wet, also stops you from drying up, gore tex and all the other nonsense be well nonsense in my experience
What is important is a need for a belt drive and naturally good hydrolic disk breaks, this is not going to be a workhorse of a ebike and will be used in all weather conditions and chains and gears just do not take it well at the best of times with me, let alone with the weather included. Downside of long legs is a lot of force and I know I should start in a lower gear, but meh
I know th belt might not be ideal for the offroady stuff, but I just want to dip in some toes, if I want to do more with it down the line I will adjust accordingly. Some suspension would be lovely period though, currently I have none and while this is fine 99% of the time for my current home-work traffic sometimes you hit something just wrong and your wrists will hate you.
Other minor, but must have needs: Fenders (it rains, a lot) and a rear baggage rack. Light be nice, but can always find a solution for those, so not to worried about that, same could be with fenders I guess, just more hassle. I do prefer a standard triangle frame, just perference, but the step through never look exactly right to my eyes and well it is the only area wrongly or not I do worry about the strain on the frame with my conditions.
Budget wise I am looking to stick to €2500-3500 (Eddies or USD also acceptable, if it can be shipped to the EU within reason). If sacrifices have to be made, as very well might be, after all we all want the moon for the penny it will need to seen what is best to drop. If I had effectively unlimited funds I do not think I would be asking here, but be on the site of Riese und Müller or the likes already![Wink ;) ;)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
