I bought a KTM eStyle P bike in September 2014. The bike has a Panasonic rear hub motor and the battery is a Panasonic 46.8v, 8.8Ah NKY462B2. Just recently the battery failed to hold a charge properly, and since there are no longer any replacement batteries of this type available from any supplier that I can find I sent it away to be re-celled. The company that performed the re-celling upset the battery management system and although the battery charges fully it will not provide consistent power to the bike. I have contacted both KTM and Panasonic for advice but so far have not got any help at all. Does anyone have suggestions on a) a company that might repair the damage (I'm in the UK), or b) advice on repairing this ourselves - maybe with a wiring diagram? or c) can anyone advise if a different battery specification might be workable?
An alternative battery that I have found is a 36v, 13.5 Ah, 486 Wh for a Gazelle - https://hollandbikeshop.com/en-gb/b...-battery-for-panasonic-motor-platinum-13-5ah/ What would be the effect of using a battery with a lower voltage?
Any advice would be most welcome, especially since my husband has the same model of bike, which will also need a new battery in the next few months!
