Advertising a17” bike. Is that a small?

Back in the day, generally speaking, mountain bike frame sizes were measured by their seat tube length, in inches. I would guess 17” to be in the medium to med/lg. But those measurements can be all over the map, depending on how they were measured…. for instance, bottom bracket to top of seat tube, top of top tube, or middle of top tube.
Best to look at other measurements as well on the bike you’re looking at.

I wear 28" pants leg and ride a 16" frame. Since I have to alter my pants to get legs that short, I would guess people would say I am small. My height is average for men born in 1950.

I found out that this 17 inch Priority current which this guy was dumping for a ridiculously low price was unfortunately a small

The above is with some rounding. For example, 17 inches is really more like 53.2c, making it closer to a Medium than a Small. Which reminds me of the headline for the story of the diminutive clairvoyant who escaped from the cops.

Small Medium At Large
