Active line plus clunk sound

In a recent review, Court mentioned a clunking sound coming from the Bosch Active line plus mid drive motor. I purchased an ebike with that drive system in April. I noticed the clunking sound but I did learn that when the clunking occurred my assist level was to high or gear was too low to give me the feel of a non ebike for the terrain I was riding on. By going to a higher gear or lowering the assist level the knocking would stop and the feel of the peddles returned to a more non ebike feel. I have an ebike with a cadence sensor and the peddle feel is way to light for my taste. The Bosch ebike drive system makes me feel that I’m riding a normal bike on level ground with the wind at my back even when I’m going up hill with the wind on my face. That normal non ebike feel is important to me and the Bosch Active Line plus clunking makes it easy for me to keep that feel at different speeds and terrains. Ed
