50% of the injuries are the chin and areas unprotected by a skid lid. Ever see a helmet in Amsterdam? Some statistics indicate helmeted riders take more risks. That said i helmet only in winter when drivers dont expect bicycles. Full face are the only real protection.

I agree. I've hit my chin on pavement 5 times in 5 years, and the last time in November I broke my jaw. Jaw is still wired shut for the holidays. I've never hit my skull. For $149 + freight you can have a Fox Rampage Comp which has a chin guard, and excellenct ventilation. I sweat on my head, not where normal people do. More padding than I need at 10 mph, but you can't have everything. The visor looks stupid but does keep the sun out of my eyes: there is no room for a ball cap under this. There is room for sun/safety glasses, but you have to put them on after the helmet is on. It folds my ears down when I put it on, but the guard is about 4 cm out in front of my chin.
It was harder than **** to find jaw protection, when I looked before this accident. Competitive, niagara, modernbike, no chin guards. jensonusa wouldn't show me anything in September when I typed "helmet" in the search box. javascript error. After the accident I learn the secret word "downhill mountain bike racing helmet", which pried the secret info out of jenson. Thanks to somebody on electricbikereview for providing the magic formula.

Thanks. I opt out of helmets most of the year, but the risks in winter riding are greatly increased. I'm looking for a FF!

If you're going to ride in the PNW in the winter at Ebike speeds, I strongly suggest the new light weight full-face. In many places bike lanes and road shoulders grow moss in the winter. Additionally, I've ridden motorcycles for over 45 yrs, and you launch off an Ebike, rather than (most of the time) going down with your motorcycle. Obviously, a full face is my choice on motorcycles as well, but it may be even more important on eBikes at eBike speeds.

I’ve got the Pedelec+ version of the helmet. It’s not bad, the light on the helmet though is pretty much invisible in daylight though. It cost me about £65, so definitely savings to be made from the rrp

So few chouces for fat heads. I used snow helmets dirt boating. Big sizes were easier in snow helmets. Maybe sized for extra liner? FF bike helmets are even harder to find. Return shipping and time wasted make for frustrating. I didfind a fit but, jeez, it was better suited to a 12 year olds color scheme.

I bought the Pedelec+ helmet in spring 2018, it's been a very nice and extremely practical helmet. I love the integrated/stowable rain cover, the integrated bug netting on the front vents, and the magnetic strap closure. I like that it has a visor that fits well and does not pop off accidentally from normal handling. I also really like the fitting system, it's easy to get a good fit because the adjustment knob is large and had very positive click-stops -- unlike some of the small/flimsy systems on other helmets I've had. I feel better protected as a result.

I do agree with @rexel1, the integrated light could be brighter, it's useless in daylight. I also wish the helmet was a lighter/brighter color, for visibility and also so it would not soak up so much solar radiation, it can get hot on summer days.
