Very helpful video. Seems to be a lot of confusion out there about how to get keyed-alike locks and which locks are candidates.

The Abus Keyed Alike program has always been popular in our shop and we recently made a video and built a tool to make the program more accessible.

To order a keyed alike lock check out this link: https://propelbikes.com/product/abus-keyed-alike-locks/
this is great my shop had a hard time trying to do it. I want to get this down to 1 key but I don't really want to spent 300.00 to do it

After stumbling around online and my LBS unable to help, this video answered all my questions. You'll be seeing my order soon. Thanks.
its slow though takes over a month to get it and its not cheap. But what I realized is if you have a good abus lock its far cheaper to replace the lock for the battery then the bike lock. I got both bikes now with the same key and the cafe lock but still waiting on the folding locks been 30 days now so they should ship soon. I replaced the padlock on the garage door with the same key lock too.

a update some abus locks have a month or two delay. I found this out the hard way. I have two of the big folder alarm locks. I sure wish they had the higher security folders for keyed alike.

Hi all - I know this is an old topic, but I just got an ebike that already has an Absus lock on the battery and was looking at getting an Abus lock(s) for the rest of the bike. Knowing about the YourPlus program, I called my local Trek store and was first told that they don't have a way to match the keys, but after I asked if they were sure the person consulted with someone else and he informed me that they can do this, but the last time they did it that it took 4.5 months to get the lock.

Does this match others' experiences? This would be very disappointing if true since that is a selling point that they push. I currently do not have any lock for the bike as my other bike was stolen the day after I ordered this one so I need one soon and I rather not have to buy one now just to replace it with the matched Abus one when it comes in.

If this is really the timeline, I will probably just deal with carrying multiple keys in which case I may consider another brand.

its easier to buy a lock and get a matched key for your battery compartment. one thing it costs a lot less and you get more lock choices. I learned this after I had the three battery locks keyed alike. then I had to by three matching locks and one padlock for our garage. so get the abus lock you want then use that key code to buy a new lock for your battery. they just don't have a good selection of locks otherwise. https://propelbikes.com/product/abus-keyed-alike-locks/

Appreciate the quick reply and think that makes sense.

I was thinking of getting a U Lock and a folding lock for a little extra piece of mind (I don't mind the extra weight since I will have the assistance of the motor) and having them keyed the same, but maybe I either 1) stick with one lock for now and order the 2nd or 2) get 2 locks with different keys.

My issue (and I realize that this is unique to me) is that I will be traveling and moving every 1-2 months for the next 8-12 months starting in August so even if I order a key now, it probably wont be delivered until after I am in some who knows where location. Perhaps I just get one now and order the others to a local store and have them/a friend mail it to me when they come in.

Thanks again for your suggestion!

yes its slow so you would have to have a stable address. they charge 20% extra and shipping. I hated you could not buy their highest security locks keyed alike

Yeah - I didnt see it when I originally posted, but saw the topic 'Abust keyed-alike options' below and your experience and the cost there. Honestly will probably just have multiple keys.
