I've installed one on my Aventon Level. Didn't want to drilling into the seat stays. It's held in place by four zip ties that I check periodically. It's done great for 500 miles. Plenty of clearance with an Abus 5650L NR lock.
??? What is the purpose of the lock which is connected using zip ties? Looks like only works against good people, who won't touch your bike even if it is unlocked. How do you use it? Are you feeling calm when your bike outside locked using this "lock"?

Its not meant to be high security. Its purpose is to let you leave the bike for a minute to grab a coffee(hence cafe lock) or go the bathroom without worrying about someone riding off with your bike.
Zip ties arent ideal, but they really have no impact on whatever security the cafe lock provides. Cutting the zip ties while the lock is engaged does nothing - it will still be locked around the wheel and trapped between the tire and frame.
Thanks BlackHand for handling my reply. As you stated, the lock works the way it's supposed to rather the zip ties are there or not. Here's a couple of photos of the installation. Not terribly elegant but it works well. I really didn't want to drill into the seat stays (the way Rad and Trek have) so the zip ties are an easy install that don't harm a frame warranty.
