I’ve noticed that electronic innovations are becoming more integrated in the new generation of ebikes. The auto industry has found that electronics can improve profits, so have embraced them. It looks like the ebike industry has learned that as well. I’ve seen ebikes promoting cruse control on their products as well as gps, anti- lock breaks, theft deterrent systems electronic shifting and may other electronic bike innovations. Where will it end. Perhaps a bike so smart you can take a nap while commuting on your ebike. I wonder what the price tag on that bike will be? Ed

A good example of elecgronic innovations is the new Giant ebikes that have an auto power setting, were the motor senses when you're going uphill or downhill and increases or decreases the power accordingly.
This sounds great, but to me it's just one more thing that could go wrong. And when these high tech things fail (usually after the warranty) the fix could be very expensive.

I hope that doesn't happen - I love auto assist mode on my La Free!
