9 Speed Shifter on newer RCS

I wanted to point out for those with Juiced bikes and 9 speed shifters.

I have an older RCS which came with SHIMANO Altus SL-M2010-9R 9-Speed Right Rapidfire Plus Shifter. The latest RCS comes with a shifter MARVO LT and is not easy to read what gear you're in with only the orange indicator and no numbers. The benefit with the Shimano was it was easy to tell what gear you are in. The Shimano comes with OPTISLICK for smooth shifting cable.

Have you made sure that the new shifter works OK with you derailleur? I ask because I got into a mess on my most recent bike. It came with a shifter that had NO shift indicator. Worked fine, but spoiled as I am, I wanted to know what gear I was in at a glance. To make a long story shorter, I learned (the hard way) that the shifter and derailleur MUST match! I tried changing just the shifter, and no matter what I tried, I could not get it to adjust so that ALL gears worked. I could get like the first 4 working, or the middle 4, or even the top 4, but it was impossible to get all 8 set. I ended up changing both the shifter and the derailleur to get it set up correctly (went with Altus on both ends, love it!). FWIW

I have the Shimano on my new RCS Step Thru no problems.
