New here, new to ebikes, though I did buy my wife a Zugo a year ago. The last significant riding I did was the Schwinn Continental I got 50 years ago (and actually still have). She really likes her Zugo but although I found it fun to ride it's really not the bike for me, too small to pedal comfortably and I wanted larger wheels and more of a traditional bike, not the moped style of the Zugo (she's only 5' tall and the Zugo is the only bike she found that she could comfortably ride). After investigating and dismissing all the cheapo Amazon bikes I narrowed it to the Lectric Xpeak and the Radster... the Radster's 3" wide tires vs. the 4" of the Xpeak and all other fat tire bikes made the decision. We wanted bikes that could handle the sand roads of a typical campground; the bikes will let us go places without having to break down the setup to drive the camper.
Anyway, my bike arrived last week and I'm very happy with it. The build quality is very good and the powertrain is nicely set up. I like the torque sensor much better than the cadence sensor on the Zugo. Did a few 20 mile rides, half pavement and half rough forest roads. It's great fun on the forest roads, though a few attempts at narrower trails into the woods convinced me of what all the reviews say, it's not a bike for narrow singletrack... which is OK but naturally I had to see for myself.
I can see this will be quite the rabbit hole with numerous accessories needed, the latest being a Suntour seat post which is a big improvement, but also little things like helmet, phone holder, bottle holder, lock, pump, storage, etc....
