50T Creo Chainring

Has anyone located a 50T chainring with the 110 BCD narrow wide threaded 5 bolt pattern? Looks like Praxis only goes to 46T. I suppose you could use a non-threaded with nuts and bolts but prefer a direct 1:1 drop-in. I’m tired of spinning out!

Take a look around on the web. Searching for bike parts can be fun, and you learn about brands, specs, and what's available. For your case I noticed:

Maybe Garbaruk
Garb. has a reputation for good quality, but in my experience delivery to US can take months.

Wolf Tooth shows "not in stock" but maybe they will have it eventually.

JensonUSA.com lists a bunch of brands with 110 BCD, though only some of those will have narrow/wide.

You'll probably need nuts and bolts, but I think I prefer that in case something gets stripped.

Thanks! Yes I have found quite a few on Amazon. I’ve decided the nut and bolt approach would be fine. Im actually thinking about stepping up to a 52T. I don’t have much experience with gear ratios but worth giving it a shot although it might require a new chain?

52t will really limit your low end gearing. How fast do you need to peddle? a 48t and 11t cassette will get you to a little over 30mph at 80 rpms. are you going faster then that?

The online calculator I used shows that 52T and 11 rear yields 30.92 mph at 80 rpm. 48t shows 28.54 mph. So I was just going by that. But in answer to your question I’m spinning out at around 28. Especially on descents.

I ordered a Garbaruk June 22 and received the tracking number on July 20. Tracking shows it received in Sacramento today, so maybe two more days to get to me. So that's a little over a month for me.

you wile sacrificing climbing for going down hill. so if you can put more effort into combing it would be ok.

you could always pick up the used wolf tooth (52t, 110 bcd 5 bolt) one that's on ebay right now for 35 bucks while you search for a new one. you'll need their bolts, which work great. don't forget a drop of loctite per :)

if you're still spinning out... a driver change will let you go to a 10-42 cassette on the back, also a fairly easy change. 52 in front and 10 in the back gives you about the longest gearing conventionally available!

FYI - Specialized claims compatibility only up to 50T... See https://support.specialized.com/turbocreosl/en/features-compatibility/frames

Is there a reason you're maxing out at 80rpm cadence?

Wolftooth seems to have stuff come into and out of stock; I had to wait a week or two for the 46T chainring to come back in stock. Use their "email me when available" or just keep checking.

I purchased my Garbaruk from R2 Cycling in Germany. I am in UK and postage was only a few days and they do international shipping via Airmail. May worth a look

I'm a spinner and often go as high as 90rpm ... and if I hit 30+mph on a descent I'm probably going to coast.

And yes, a really large chainring would rub against the drive side chainstay. Finding the max. could be tricky.
130 teeth almost touches the pavement.

I tend to average in the high 80's for cadence. Particularly if I'm pushing rather than lollygagging.

Spinning out on a 46T hasn't been an issue I've faced - from a gravel ride on my Creo E5 with 700x42's... :)

Each to their own though.

I’m with you on this. My cassette is 10-50T, and there’s no way I’ll ever spin out with my 46T chainring even on a downhill. At some point, I’m tapping the brakes!
