48v Pansonic GA 17.5ah Black Killer Whale Ebike Pack from Luna Cycles

I did the Luna Cycle Triangle Battery Bag for $25+shipping: http://lunacycle.com/batteries/battery-bags/luna-cycles-triangle-battery-bag/

The Luna bag has vent holes and two outside pouches with Velcro to store items. I did it the lazy way and punch three holes in the bottom of the bag for the battery tray screws and ran the power cord towards the bottom left side of the bag out the zipper. I have to un-zip the entire bag to turn on the power or plug in the recharge cord. I added a zip-tie towards the top/back above the control box (probably didn't need to add). Tough little bag and it looks pretty good on the RR.

I used a black marker to color in the "Luna Cycle" logos on both sides:

What about a shark pack?
I saw on the Luna cycle site a 48 volt jumbo shark pack with 17.5 ahrs???

If you go with the 52volt 13.5 hour dolphin battery that Luna sells, you won't have to change the mount, it goes right in the same one that's on the bike. And you'll still have the original battery for a second battery plus you'll get more power and range with the new one. You will need a separate 52 volt charger though.

Yes it will be slightly heavier due to the additional cells necessary but also check with Rad if upping to 52v requires reprograming the controller?

@JRA, it does not require reprogramming the controller, it's plug and play. However I don't know if there would be any benefits to reprogramming the controller nor do I have the slightest idea of how to do so.

I don't know how much of a difference it makes with my DD motor performance wise but I can switch between the two (48v 10Ah/52v 11.5) using a Cycle Analyst which is manually programmed to use either and choose the one I want. It keeps track of all the stats of either concurrently, most importantly battery cycles and total Ah's used.

Dang.. now I want a 52v battery. Better tq/acceleration would be great for me.

..A 2nd battery wouldn't be so bad. Great for camping trips on the coast where radrover + beach = can't get me off!

I have both. In BBSHD use they are nearly the same. With the 52v a bit faster, on an already to fast for its braking bike. I find the cell choice more important. I wish I'd not taken the sales pitch advice and held out for a 30Q cell pack.

@Thomas Jaszewski These are a necessity if you are running a BBSHD like me on a 60 lb. Radrover frame:

I love them. Way better than the stock mechanical disc brakes. Night and day difference!

Nah! Old farts just slow down. I'm looking for some new directions for the coming season. The BBSHD is to fast for the bike paths most of the time. We still ride our two BBS01's nearly daily around the local park. But that said, adding KoolStop eBike pads made for a improvement in braking. With their 26" disc. VBG

Wow...people still use Photobucket!?

I don't even have Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Instagram or the other +30 online accounts. It has just been Acura car forums, Dropbox, Photobucket, Amazon, eBay, iTunes and Netflix and recently this as the closest I get to a big web footprint. Strangely enough, I've was an Active duty Captain in the Army Signal Corps and computer specialist for the last +25 yrs and I take care of computers, servers, and network security.

It is much more fun riding my bikes on the single track dirt trails near the Rio Grande river instead of keeping up on the latest social media trend that is going to change in 6 months anyways.:p

The "fuel guage" will not work correctly with the 52 volt pack though, right? Or is there a way to recalibrate that?
