Walking assistance from motor

I just noticed a "Walk" button on the side of display/controls on a Scott EMTB today. Push "Walk", Walk + comes up on screen, push + and it gently takes off.

A generic method you can try is to look for your PAS Up and Down buttons. Hold down the Down button. After a few seconds of this many bikes will engage walk assist.

And this is what works on the low cost bikes with at least KT or Bafang controllers (the function actually comes from the display itself IIRC). It is, after all, a legal requirement in a couple of jurisdictions so you can expect everyone supports it who wants to sell in those countries. Its just a matter of figuring out where it is.

My DJ Bikes mountain bike has a “walk mode“ and cost $1499. Unfortunately, its idea of “walk” is more like a brisk jog.
One of my e-bikes is inexpensive, too. Walk mode there is hidden under one of the remote buttons (I think it is "-" when depressed and held). Still, a short instruction manual named all button combinations for that e-bike.

So......maybe I should read mine then.

(Spoken in all sincerity - sadly.)
