20x3 tires for Lectric ONE?

A general rule is that the inner rim width should be at least 40% of the tire width, which would be 30mm or more. Maybe the tire manufacturer knows more specifically what range or rim widths will work.

Naturally, you need room between forks and chain stays and under fenders. The bike will be going a little faster and farther than the speedometer will say.

I had a ONE briefly and recall the rear fender clearance was kinda tight. Not all tire profiles are created equal and you might bet stuck buying a tire, pulling the rear wheel, installing the new tire, re-installing just to see if it clears would be what I'd do if no one had a confirmed fit. What 20x3 tires are you considering? I installed tire liners on my ONE and the stock tires were tight on the rim, like almost bending my Pedro tire levers! So keep that in mind as well.

Spokewrench above did point out the rim width coming into the equation as well.

Thank you both for the responses!

The rims measure 31mm width externally so I'm sure they are a bit under 30mm internally.

I have some Allscape 20x3 tires I'd like to install. I've tried their web site ( https://happyebikes.com/ ) for fitment data but not able to locate anything helpful. I may have to resort to the method you suggest: try it. 😬

I have beaches to ride and I think the 20x3 tires would be better than the 20x2.5 tires now installed.

I have a XP Lite folding single speed with the belt drive. I've stripped it down considerably, it hangs out in the back of my Crosstrek and I use it exclusively for the Oregon beaches. I did up the tires to 20x3 knobbies from the 20x2.5's. They fit but the rear fender won't fit and the front barely does. You'll want to keep the front fender on to protect it from sand and wet, where the stupid key location is. However, I'm not too sure the 20x3's would fit the ONE at least on the back.

I will say that for the harder packed Oregon beaches (especially at low tides), the 20x2.5's were good enough.
