2022 Vado 4.0 My Opinion after the first 1000 miles

The bike is perfect. I have never had an issue however I am a competent bicycle mechanic and I have common sense. When you turn the bike on make sure you don't move it until the headlight and taillights come on. When the bike first turns on it calibrates itself, therefore, moving the wheels or cranks is problematic.
The LBS I bought it from didn't set it up that well. I was fine with that and all I did was walk in and pay. When I got home I went over it and fine-tuned everything. You may think that is what you pay an LBS for... but regardless I am going to check everything myself I don't care how well it is set up. The LBS missed a lot and probably because I just showed up 5 mins after they opened and paid without pre-order.
The 2022 VADO 4.0 is a great bike. I am getting as much as 82 miles out of a charge (micro 30%) and as little as 37 miles on turbo.

2000 miles on the bike now. All I have done is rotated the tires, replaced the chain (it hadn't even stretched but I always switch out at 2k), and replaced the brake pads. The bike is amazing! I haven't even had to adjust the shifting... ever.
I got a Burley XC Coho cargo trailer for it too. I couldn't be happier with the bike and trailer.

Which Abus model lock ?

Which Abus model lock ?
I have two ABUS locks... an ABUS Bordo Granit xplus 85cm folding lock and an ABUS 1060 67" chain.
The folding lock will perfectly fit through the rear wheel, frame, and a standard bike rack. The chain is long enough to go through both weels the frame and a bike rack.
When I have the trailer attached I use the chain to lock the trailer to the frame and a bike rack and use the folding lock as I always do (rear wheel, frame and rack). If needed I will also use a cable to snake through the seat rails and rear basket. The folding lock fits pefectly on the downtube bottle mounts without any need for the additonal ABUS straps.

We all want our lock to be the best. IMO the best protection is locked under a camera and a conspicuous spot where we never leave a valued bike for an extended period. I too have spent HUNDREDS of dollars since 1965 on locks. Maybe even a K or more. Sad bastards that really want my bike will always win the lock game.

One minute with a nut spitter. BASTARDS! Start at 4:00

Welcome to my world.

Indeed.
Yesterday I rode to my local dispensary and there was a bicycle already locked to the rack by the main door.
So I rode to the front of the building which has more racks and also faces a busy street and has a bar with an open patio within 7' of the racks (with people around).
When I came out there was a thief who had taken my tailwind pannier off of my bike and had it on his. Gut instinct told me that there was no threat of violence (I was right) so I just calmly walked up to him and without even raising my voice said "c'mon man don't steal my $hit"... I took it off his bike and put it back on my bike. He had some excuse that I didn't listen to as I rode away. And yes my main ABUS folding lock had been moved around so it did its job as a deterrent.
