Shopping a Vado 4.0 I see some things I dont get according to the 21 Website Info . The bike Im looking at is supposed to be a 2021 but its the Dove Gray and the headlight is different from the one on the Site . I wonder if these are just Covid supply issues or is the bike actually a 2020 Model ? Thanks

It could be the MY 2020. It even could be the 2019.

Clyde: If the Vado you are talking about is actually brand new (and is equipped with the TCD-W display: important!), it makes no real difference if that's a 2019, 2020, or 2021. Since introducing the excellent TCD-W display (that replaced older BLOKS one), the Vado line has not undergone any major upgrade save the frame colour and some cosmetic changes such as headlight relocation. Only the price was growing. Of course if you want to spend your bucks on the true 2021 model, look elsewhere. You know the hard market situation though.

You should ask about the display type anyway.
The production year (not the model year) could be shown at a little sticker at the rear of the seat-post.
What is the price offered?

@clyde8452: Another Forum member (@Cap) has just bought a Crimson Red Vado 4.0 2021 and his e-bike has the headlight exactly like in the photo you showed. (Specialized are known of frequent changes to the published specs). So it looks the model you are considering to buy indeed is MY 2021.

Besides, I looked at the Specialized website for my country (Poland), and guess what? Two different versions of 4.0 (high-step and step-through) had headlights in different positions! :)

Heres the pics I posted in the other forum. About 3 wks old now, I paid 3750 for mine.

Very happy with my choice. Bike riding has become so much more fun for me. There were so many choices, I ride in a group of people that have bikes, and each one is different. I’m glad to see I picked one that has this dedicated forum for it. That is always a plus.

Looking at your Vado . I have the same light on my Vado 5 . Which I shouldn't have . Yet I do . My bike is supposed to be a 2021 . Plus based on your pictures they installed my light upside down . I have flipped it prior to seeing this post . Your photos confirm I was right . Thanks for posting

If you have the headlight on the fender like mine, it tended to come loose, rattle and rotate with the vibrations. In fact on YOUTube there’s a review from a guy whose light was rattling and the video shows the complete front fender falling off whilst he was cycling along a dirt trail!
Watch this after 1 minute into the video!

Based upon the taillight, this Vado is a 2020 or 2021 model year, not 2019. The 2019 models had the little Supervova tailight with 3 small LEDs. It puts out a lot of light, but it is not the formal taillight that appears on this bike. I have 2019 and I can see your taillight is the newer model.

LOL Thats funny . However it wasn't the lights fault . I'd be willing to bet 1 or bolt of the bolts that hold the Fender Bracket had previously loosened . Or maybe he'd even lost one or both on a previous ride . I watched another video of his actually just last week . It's still not right You can buy a Vado Stem at 65.00 that comes with a bracket to install the light . However if you light match the guy in the video . It's different then mine is
