2019 Como Low Entry

My sincere thanks for this board for guiding me to the Specialized Como bike. I have been in search of the perfect ebike and I believe the Como is for me. I tested both the Como 3 and Vado 6 yesterday but in end loved the comfort of the Como style. I am about to the pull the trigger but still have one doubt. Do I go with the low entry or the men's regular? I am a 5.4 women.

I hated the color of the 2018 low entry but love the all black men's regular. Just found out this week that the new 2019s have two other colors available, red and navy blue. I like the red. My doubts is the space between the battery in the low entry. Very limited and wonder if the battery is going to be hard to get out and likelihood of marking up the red paint job in getting in and out. Also the front light on the low entry Como is staged in the middle of front bar not at the top stearing bar as in men's bike. Do not like this. Any more guidance or opinions you can share before I make my final decision?

Also, any updates on when the Mission Control software will be available for the Comos and Vados?

The battery cover is plastic, so I don't think it'll chip the paint. Maybe it'll leave some marks if it's matte, but as Dave said, it slides out to the side. If your local store has it assembled, give it a try, and see if you're comfortable with swapping the battery.

Also, I'd be very surprised if Specialized follows through with mission control on the Como and Vado series. They even removed any mention of it in the description page.

I have the Como 3 in black with the headlight on the stem and my girlfriend has the Como 3 Low Entry in UV Lilac (both US models). Her headlight is mounted lower. Both lights are very bright, she likes the light mounted lower as she has a straw weave basket strapped to the handlebars. It's been so hot lately, we love to ride fast at night and the lights are bright enough we feel super safe.

I think the lighter color of her bike shows some personality and dazzles. The black on the underside of her battery downtube is a design stylepoint that seems to slim the girth. The black accent is also on the inside forks. I'm new to the bike world, but already I've noticed that Specialized bikes are generally the best looking bikes compared to others. :)

She's 5'7", her bike is a small. My bike is XL.

Jump in, these bikes are a blast!

My wife just got her Como 3.0 this past week and loves it? Great on the hills, fantastic battery, very light and quick. I think the Como is one of the best looking bikes on the market. I am seriously thinking about getting one.

It looks great! What region of the world do you ride? That color and accessories perfect, they were not offered in the United States, the chunk of earth I reside in. Tell us more, are you enjoying it?

On the UV Lilac, I like how the fender in the front goes down farther than the fender on Missbk50's red bike in the entry prior to yours.

I was thinking of installing the fender with rack/light integration from the Vado, but wonder if there will be a gap since the Vado has 29 inch wheels and we have the 27.5. But then again, our bikes probably won't go out when it's rainy. I know, I'm a baby.

I so agree when you say the Como is one of the better looking bikes on the market. The clean lines that they achieved by making the battery and motor look like a smooth tube is surprisingly unique at this stage of the ebike trend. I read that a competing motor from Bosch in the next generation will have this same Brose/Specialized look of smooth, no humps and lumps.

Day three … I have logged so far 57 miles. Loving my New Como 3.0. I have tried both on flat bike paths and hilly paved roads that I could not master with my prior Specialized road bike.

I reside in the Columbus GA area where we have great bike paths within the state. In Columbus, the longest paved path follows the Chattahoochee River from downtown Columbus to Ft. Benning. A fun and beautiful 40 mile ride from start to finish. Columbus is a booming town with outside adventures such as bike riding, white water rafting, and zip lining from the Georgia to the Alabama side. A fun bike get away weekend if you have never experienced. Also just two hours away is the Silver Comet bike trail which is 61.5 miles long starting in Smyrna, Georgia and ending at the Georgia/Alabama state line. I plan to do the Comet trail with my bike this fall for a long weekend track.

Happy trails my bike friends . .

I've been thinking about getting the fenders for my Como 3.0 to get ready for the upcoming wet weather I don't want to ride in the rain but after it stops raining the roads are still wet just want to keep most of the crud off me and the bike. They look pretty good! I'm pretty fond of the Como 3.0 looks too!
