2017 Trek Powerfly Error code 532

When riding uphill will get power surge then loss= Error code 532. Will then take out battery reinsert all good for another 5 miles then same thing occurs. Dealer said no error codes were reported by this control unit. Any ideas about this problem would be greatly appreciated. Really enjoy the bike great exercise for 67 year old. Thank you Mr Ed

I experienced a similar problem on my 2018 Powerfly 5 hardtail which has a Bosch CX Gen1 motor and a Purion display which, as far as I am aware, does not display error messages. (I have had a Error 532 accompanied by a 'See dealer' message on another ebike.)

My Trek dealer fixed the problem promptly and at no charge. Their attitude was simple: Trek ebikes shouldn't fail like this. Trek are the people to go to.

Thanks David dealer told me it was fixed. Really frustrating will call them again when open.

My Trek dealer replaced the wiring between battery and motor. My other ebike – the one able to display the Error 532 message – was 'fixed' in the same way.

I think you’re right in the mean time I’m going to try some contact cleaner on connection sites heard that might help. Will let you know thanks again for your help! Happy riding

Wanted you to know the contact cleaner on the battery connections worked. If the problem comes back will definitely look into wire replacement thanks.
