2017 Cannondale Mavaro Performance 700F

I'm sure you'll be happy either way. If you want to save some money, you could always call Chris at Cirrus (the maker of the seatpost) and arrange delivery of the older model. FYI, I stand corrected -- the 2.0 is $199 and the 2.1 is $249. Best!

Things the Mavaro needs are: lock-on ergonomic grips. I like the Brooks model (see first pic shown below). Ergon also has a nice option that's less expensive than the Brooks model (see second pic shown below). I would also like to add a suspension seat-post for added riding comfort. I'm just not sure what might work as my seat height is pretty low already.

I noticed you had posted a question elsewhere about purchasing a Bosch battery at a discounted price. I don't have any experience in this category, however, I did some searching and found this vendor offering the Bosch PowerPack 500 Performance battery at $687.18.

I hope you're not having any issues with your current battery. I think we both have the 400 and mine seems to be in great condition.

Best!

Hi there!

I haven't been on the forum much at all as I've been busy riding my bike and with life.

I took your advice and purchased a different seat and locking hand grips. The LBS only had the Ergon ones. I don't particularly like them. I got the large size and they're still smaller and not as cushy as the ones that came on the bike. I'm going to look up the Brooks ones you suggested as well as checking out some other brands.

Yesterday I inadvertently took a 40 mile ride through the countryside. Where I live is extremely hilly and that really eats into the battery life. I also tend to get battery anxiety when I get down to two bars. So the last 12 miles to get home kicked my butt. I didn't use the battery unless I was going up hill, and then only in Eco mode.

I'm going to have to be more judicious when going up hills in my battery usage from now on. On many of the long steep hills I was using the Sport mode. In the future I'll need to stick with Tour, dig in and suck it up. Good thing I had locking hand grips as I was cranking on them pretty hard going up those hills.

My original goal with getting an ebike was to get more exercise, lose weight, and explore like I did when I was a kid. The Mavaro has been helping with all of that.

But now I am going to look at getting panniers and an extra battery, preferably a 500W one.

Thus far I've put almost 600 miles on my bike -- couldn't do much riding in June as it turned into monsoon season. I am enjoying my bike immensely and have no regrets on purchasing it.

Hope you're still enjoying your bike.

Glad you're having a great summer and getting in lots of miles! Btw: if you don't like the Ergon grips, you might not like the Brooks grips. They are made by Ergon with Brooks leather. I absolutely love mine!

Hi,

I’m new to ebikes and was wondering if I’m getting a good deal.

A local bike shop had a leftover 2017 Cannondale Mavaro Performance step-thru on sale for $3,200. I asked for and received an additional $200 off for the couple of scuffs I found on the paint.

So I put the bike on layaway for $3,000 + tax.

Is this a good deal?

Should I be looking at a different brand?

Or should I be looking at a 2018?

Help, please.

Hi there,
I'm a year late in replying to your post but I have the exact bike --- Cannondale Mavaro Performance step thru. This model came only in dark grey. I bought mine new in 2016 which came to almost $6,000.00 CDN. You got a good deal on it and it is considered one of the best built and durable eBikes made. I hope you ended up with the Cannondale Mavaro Performance step - thru.
