If I would have been going alone I would have never used the shuttle service. The trail and scenery were really nice for the first 15 miles. I usually park at Slatedale and ride to Jim Thorpe and back which is about 36 miles r/t. This was my first ride north of Jim Thorpe.

Let me correct my answer. They were to hold sections of metal track, not wooden ties. Groups of these were spaced out every couple of miles to store 30 foot sections of track in areas that were hard to reach when repairs were needed. I researched this years ago, as I was also curious about them...

I have Rokform mounts on both my bikes and have had no had no problems with either of them. I use a note 8 which is a very large phone and it stays in place fine. My only complaint is some difficulty attaching the case to the phone at times.
