Pedego Actually Sent me a New Battery Case Which Came with this Already in it,…That Makes them #1 in My Book !!! On a Note, It Needed Replacement because It Shorted & Partially Melted When I Pushed the Battery into the Case with The Toggle Power Switch in the “ON” Position.

Yes,...We own 2 Pedegos, his & hers,...( City Commuter & Step thru-Interceptor),...& Have Immensely Enjoyed Our Biking Adventures for 2 Years Now !! GO PEDEGO,...they're rated one of the most reliable EBIKES out there !!

Don't know about "Proprietary",...but Was told they are 2cd generation Battery Sleeves made of softer Plastic which could be another reason for Cracks & seperation of Screw nodules ??!

The "Very Fine Cracks" are Just That,...You Have to Take The Battery out of the sleeve & try to put pressure on the 2 Halves & see if they are More noticeable !? I Think riding over Potholes might be the cause & Over time the stresses on the "Battery sleeve" will possibly show as these hairline...
