I got nothing, sadly. My wife just got a replacement crappy OEM one so she can ride her bike. The search continues.

Any bike shops in Los Angeles/SFV area that will service/maintain a Ride 1up LMTD?

I live in the SFV Los Angeles area and i'm considering a Ride 1up LMTD but so far none of the bike shops I have spoken to will service brands they don't themselves sell. The lack of any bike shops that carry or will maintain Ride 1up bikes is making me want to move to a more 'mainstream' brand...

    Requesting Himiway Zebra motor info

I am looking at getting another bike and the Himiway Zebra seems to be a contender. I know the motor is 750w with 86Nm of torque, but I cant find any info on whether this has a peak wattage, like a lot of other bikes do. My wife's Nomad 1 is 750w but peaks to 1200w for instance, but is only 75Nm...

    Alternate display for Nomad 1

My wife's Nomad 1 display got destroyed in an act of vandalism by some <upstanding member of society> recently and we need to get a replacement. We haven't contacted Velotric yet because she would like to see if there's a compatible third-party display that would fit the bike that has a battery...

Looking at Full Suspension Class3+ EMTB for Commuting and Trail Riding

May I ask where you got the E22 from please? I enquired about an E22 frame for an M620 build (this link - https://www.ebay.com/itm/133560255318) and was told by the seller that I needed the E06, because the E22 they had was for a Shimano motor.

Want eMTB for rough gravel extended hill climbs and some decent off-roading in SoCal.

I hadn't really considered this bike but i've been doing some digging and it ticks all the right boxes for me. Now if I could find a used one at a good price, I think we have a winner. It looks like it's based on the Dengfu E10 frame. The parts are all good but not exceptional, meaning I can...

Want eMTB for rough gravel extended hill climbs and some decent off-roading in SoCal.

Wonderful advice and a lot to think about. Thank you so much! Sorry for the mixed messages. All this new ebike stuff is unknown to me and I probably made some very obvious rookie errors. Apologies. I've built bikes from scratch, getting a raw frame and forks and adding everything from the BB...

Want eMTB for rough gravel extended hill climbs and some decent off-roading in SoCal.

Thanks mate, yeah i'm leaning towards the Rize too. I just checked one bike shop nearby and they will service Bosch drives and all he said about a Bafang was "bring it in and we'll take a look at it and let you know." So, not ideal. There's a few more stores near me that might help. Failing...

Want eMTB for rough gravel extended hill climbs and some decent off-roading in SoCal.

Yes! I replaced the Bontragers with Schwalbes on my Trek Fuel and I love them. They were my immediate go-to back in the UK for riding the trails there. I'd love a full sus eMTB but sadly it's out of the range of what i'm willing to pay at the moment. I have a Trek Fuel EX 8 back in the UK that...

Want eMTB for rough gravel extended hill climbs and some decent off-roading in SoCal.

Thank you for the insight. I agree with you. I've noticed that there's a lot of bikes only offering fat tires. I've only ever had MTBs with 'normal' wheels and my gut instinct is telling me to go with 27.5x2.3. Biktrix say their Ultra Duo 2 can be specced with 27.5x3 but when going into the...

Warning about Rize Bikes they have a serious battery issue!

The first thing any new owner should do with any kind of bike is make sure everything that needs grease has it, and every screw and nut is tightened as necessary. I've seen far too many whining posts over many sites over the years from people who just expect to get on their bike and ride it...

Local bike shop support for Biktrix in Los Angeles area

Hi all. I've narrowed my bike search down to two bikes, one of which is the Biktrix Juggernaut Ultra Duo 2. Anyone in the Los Angeles area have any insight on what bike shops would be willing to work on this bike, should I get it please?

Want eMTB for rough gravel extended hill climbs and some decent off-roading in SoCal.

Thanks. I thought both the Rize RX and Biktrix Juggernaut were Mid Drives. At least that's what their sites say. It's all new to me though so i'm still learning and most probably got it wrong. Thanks for the correction. My search continues.

Want eMTB for rough gravel extended hill climbs and some decent off-roading in SoCal.

Hi all. I'm based in Los Angeles and I just joined the forums to do my due diligence research on an ebike. I've been building mountain bikes and BMXes for years and currently have three mountain bikes (Trek, Giant and GT) and twenty four BMXes, but no ebikes of my own yet, although I did build...

Hello from Everywhere! Friends and Visits?

Hi all, British guy living in Los Angeles here. While we have an electric car (of course we do, it's Southern California) and my wife has an e-trike (which I built by adding an aftermarket hub drive and cadence sensor to a trike I built), I myself have not yet got an ebike. This is about to be...
