Radmission - where is Petal Assist System magnet ring and sensor?

Here is some info from RAD. https://radpowerbikes.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360055380013-Pedal-Assist-System-PAS-Information The throttle is a separate set of wires to the controller so it is independent from the PAS system. If there is no pedal assist and no throttle input to the motor it...

Joyisi POS arrived and I am pissed.

You need to take a screwdriver and remove the end cover. Then you will be able to see what wires are available to solder to.

How do I fix a flat on this thing?

Keeping enough air in your rear tire works just fine to prevent pinch flats. No slime necessary.

Hub drive vs mid drive - which is best for me?

HI McAndy, No, older technology was a poor selection of words. I think that the mid drive is another way to do the job, but not necessarily a better way. You really have to try some to see if you like the way that they operate. Scona

Hub drive vs mid drive - which is best for me?

Greetings from soggy Vancouver Island. I too purchased a previously used hub drive ebike to see what all the fuss was about. In a year I have ridden it about 3000k and am also looking to upgrade. I have ridden several mid drives and find them quite different. The Bafang powered units mostly...

    Hello guys,

My advice is don't fool around trying to fix the problem, let Rize deal with it under warranty. That is what you paid for and you said that you were not going to use it in the winter anyway.

I also am interested in the Rize MD. Any owners that can comment?

Companies and ebike models that support or would facilitate upgrades - particularly with batteries or motors

I agree with this in general. But how is it that bicycles are so reliable, and similarly motorcycles are as well? I would rank the ebike between the two for mechanical and electronic complexity and yet nowhere near either for reliability or maintainability. I am reminded of the evolution of the...

E-Bike Extended warranty coverage and Insurance?

Yes, for that price the extended warranty is a bargain that will probably pay for itself. The easiest way to insure is through a home owners policy, although the deductible is fairly high. I have ridden the bike that you are getting and it rides very nicely. Enjoy!

    Advise needed again please.

The length of the cable only matters when you put it on in the unfolded (normal riding) position. And as long as, when unfolded, the brakes are ok then not to worry.

    Advise needed again please.

I have had to go to longer than standard cables on both the rear brakes and derailleur. It depends on the cable routing of your bike, it seems. If you buy the cables from a local bike shop they will probably exchange the cable for a different one if it does not work. Best to ask, when you buy it.

British Columbia (Canada) government to give tax break on ebikes and raise tax on tobacco

The point is that tobacco taxes were being increased, but I get your point, and it would be hard to argue otherwise. They just need to find a way to tax that comsumption..

e-bike insurance in Vancouver, BC, Canada?

I insure it on my homeowners policy on vancouver island. Which leaves a deductible of $1000.00 to be paid on a loss.

Thanks, keep up the good work!

I think I ride too much too many warn out parts.

That is some serious mileage. How many more miles do you think it would take before it was worn out beyond repair and would require replacing? I am having doubts that most of the ebikes that I am familiar with will last long enough to go say 20000 miles. Which to me means that they are not yet...
