I've since come across one site that said Banggood's ocean shipping doesn't usually incur any customs fees. I guess that jives with past experience, the more I think about it. Always seems to be the faster shippers that stick you with a customs bill. Here's hoping.

The more research I do, the less concerned I am. That Fiido L2 might theoretically violate BC's laws (it's still not clear) but I can't find any real functional difference between it and the multitudes of other ebikes that are freely sold around here. I guess I won't worry about it.

Yeah, just went out and measured. With a listed 18 inch folded width, the Lextric XP won't fit through the trunk opening. So scratch that one. Can probably disqualify all fat tire bikes.

Hmm they look pretty big. They'd fit on the boat, but they'd be in the way, and fitting them in the car would be a pain. The D2S is looking better, but I still wish it had slightly better specs. Maybe something will turn up in the next few months.
