Changing a flat tire on Como 4.0

Same thing happened to me. Wife has a como 4. Had a flat and I could not break the bead. Took it to the LBS we bought it from and it took them at least 5 minutes and tools to break it - and yes, I have levers, etc., but Specialized must put some adhesive or something on the bead of the stock...

Class 3 ebike for hilly city

Yes, as many other e-bikers on this and other forums who have converted a bike would probably agree, if I had to do it all over again I'd buy one (which I did when we got my wife's!!). I CAN work on bikes, but am happy letting others do it.

Class 3 ebike for hilly city

I might have missed it, but one thing that you want to consider is you familiarity with bike maintenance, etc. Several of the bikes referenced here are mail-order bikes which will have limited local support. If you don't want to troubleshoot problems yourself, you might be better off buying from...

Questions: first time ebike build ??

I also did a BBSHD conversion recently (luna kit) and here are some things I did, which were also mentioned by other members' posts: 1. I used the standard luna wrench tool and was able to tighten the respective nuts adequately. They tend to loosen after the first few hundred miles, but I...

    What mirror do you use?

I put a mirricycle on my wife's turbo como and it seems fine. I have an ergotec-m99 on my converted giant roam and really like it. https://www.ergotec.de/en/products/spiegel/sub/ruckspiegel/produkt/m-99.html

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Thank for the responses - yes the US como 4 charger is 4 amps and no it doesn't have a fan - that must be the problem (my other two ebike battery chargers have fans). Thanks again!!

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Dr.V said: BTW, I've noticed the battery charger seems to be getting really warm, almost hot, when I charge the Como (brand new - got it in April). Anyone else notice that with their specialized chargers? (my chargers for my other...

Handlebar Replacement Raleigh Miceo Sport IE

I stumbled across this site while looking at replacing my stock giant roam bars (went with a Soma Osprey). It lets you see how a handlebar's outline compares with others: http://whatbars.com/

BTW, I've noticed the battery charger seems to be getting really warm, almost hot, when I charge the Como (brand new - got it in April). Anyone else notice that with their specialized chargers? (my chargers for my other bike/battery only get mildly warm if that).

Help in choosing a bike for BBSHD and batteries

I think the Roam is 68 but I'm not sure. I used spacers, but more to get the chain ring alignment with the rear cassette using the 48t luna eclipse chain ring.

    Saddle

Yeah I also didn't like my Ergon. For my bike I like the Selle Royal Respiro moderate better, but I'm still looking for more comfort on longer rides (I have the Kinekt, also).

Help in choosing a bike for BBSHD and batteries

Stabilizer bar - I don't know Chainring - 48T Luna Eclipse https://lunacycle.com/luna-eclipse-48t-chain-ring-for-the-bbshd/ Battery - 52V 21700 cells (see above post) Display - DPC-18 I bought the kit from Luna Cycle, although EM3EV was my second choice. The price was close, but because Luna...

Help in choosing a bike for BBSHD and batteries

No problems with the Roam 3 (lunacycle used one for a BBSHD conversion bike that they sell), but I also considered a Talon. I went with Giant because the LBS that's close to my house carries them and most (probably all) of their bikes in that price range have the standard bottom bracket. I also...

Help in choosing a bike for BBSHD and batteries

From the below post: "Bafang BBSxx motors have a bottom bracket shaft diameter of 33.5 mm and are designed to fit into the bicycle bottom bracket standard known as JIS or Japanese Industrial Standard, which is very similar to our standard here in the US commonly referred to as "square tapered...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I don't know if you're close to a Trek dealer, but the Verve +3 would be worth a look - very similar drivetrain components to the vado/como3 but it has a 500wh battery. If you're limited to 20 mph, I'm not sure there's a reason to pay that much more for the vado/como4.

Como 3 vs Como 4 significant differences?

Except for the 3.0 on the US website that looks like last year's model (it's Black, avaiable in small, on sale for 2779, and has the same components as are on this year's 4 - I've noticed a lot of bike companies have been doing that, btw, i.e. reducing the component level on a particular model...

    Vado speed

Yeah it's possible your Vado has the the European 20mph max speed set somewhere and needs to be changed to the 28mph setting (I don't know how to do this). However, even with the same settings the Como has the potential to reach higher speeds much more easily as it has a 48t front chain ring...
