Who can assist with TSDZ2 troubleshooting and questions.

Cable length doesn't matter much but I'd be sure to use NEW cable and sheath. I'd move it and loose the rubber blob. BTW, on the bike I'm building now (alum Cannondale) tie-down piece of the anti-rotation bracket has to be ground some to fit the mismatch on the frame and give me more screw...

Who can assist with TSDZ2 troubleshooting and questions.

I went thru the same hell with my shifter cables. Then finally learned that there is no reason to have this dirt snagging thing under there anyway. Just replace your shifter cables and apply full sheathing without any breaks or exposed cables and you can reroute them anyway you like! Sorry I...

    Fire safe battery boxes

What do you guys think about using fire resistant boxes (aka Lipo boxes) for battery charging and storage? Lipo batts are much more hazardous and not often seen for e-bikes, but any Lithium Ion batt can be hazardous under certain conditions. These boxes that cost very little appear to be a...

Who can assist with TSDZ2 troubleshooting and questions.

BTW, that sensor is a royal PITA the way it fastens to the chainstay. It took me some creativity to make it good . Then removed it anyway! What sort of a donor bike are you using? Make sure that your chain and cassette are in good shape with no appreciable wear. The motor applies nore torque...

That's what I've done. I actually just took the sensor of the chainstay and tied it up elsewhere out of the way. Strangely it does not affect the performance of the system if unused, but disturbs the performance if the magnet distance isn't set just perfectly!

Who can assist with TSDZ2 troubleshooting and questions.

Thanks Triboiler.... I did learn that solution a few weeks ago, but it was very sensitive and I haven't the patience for it. I learned from the supplier that the speed sensor has no other function than speedo readouts. Since the bike already has a good Cateye computer on it, I removed the...

Who can assist with TSDZ2 troubleshooting and questions.

Thanks Henry . It’s interesting that there are so many forums and Internet videos and articles regarding E bikes. Here in Connecticut, mine is the first one that I’ve ever seen. I guess they have caught on everywhere else in the world first.

Who can assist with TSDZ2 troubleshooting and questions.

Just completed the installation. I'm testing it on a trainer stand and setting up. Have had several snags and wondering who with TSDZ2 experience wants to help. 1. Speed on display keeps jumping to 62.4 mph during testing????? What's with that? 2. Thumb throttle is hit or miss. Sometimes...

Bottom Bracket cable guide problem for TSDZ2 install....

Right Harry. I ran extra housing and new cable and it works fine. Never saw that done before! But actually I tested the bike on a stand yesterday for the first time and it’s running terrible. I have a call into the seller for assistance. You sound experienced. Would you be willing to help...

Bottom Bracket cable guide problem for TSDZ2 install....

I'm sure this problem has come up many times. The motor frame of the TSDZ2 to BB housing gap is only around 1/8". The original guide is much too high. There are many out there as replacements, but it needs to be thin enough to fit in. I guess it could be shaved down to fit and use the motor...

    Lectric-Cycles kit cost!

Thanks for confirming this and providing an experienced opinion. It’s strange that Lectric is failing us because a business like this can be operated out of a small garage with no show room. But, it would be hard to make a dependable living and it would probably be be best just to operated part...

    Lectric-Cycles kit cost!

Today I've read much and watched numerous vids re the TSDZ2 unit. Looking at recycles-ebike.com as a source. Cost will be $1000-1200....not bad! The torque sensor discussions have convinced me that this is the way to go. Will sacrifice a bit of power but can't have everything! Thanks for...

    Lectric-Cycles kit cost!

Mike.... Excellent site. Thank you. Everything explained well. A bit hard to figure what level of assist I'd want from this setup, but I tend to buy the best so I won't have to kick myself in the ass for not doing so later on. A decent system would be around $1400. I think the bike was...

    Lectric-Cycles kit cost!

I checked out the 8fun Bafang BBS03/BBSHD on amazon. Around $750 plus around $500 for the biggest batt. Not too comforting reading the minimal descriptions which are Chinese translations not making clear sense. But I'm at the data gathering stage...

    Lectric-Cycles kit cost!

The Lectric-Cycles Website provides a lot of options for configuring do-it-yourself a bike conversion. I priced out a 750W mid-drive kit with a 1000W, 17ah Batt. After all is said and done it looks like an $1800 project. I wrote them to confirm and will post corrections if I'm wrong. But...

People for Bikes: Progress on Ebike Laws in the US

Ok! That’s well said. I am kind of a car freak. I love a car that is capable of high speed and rapid acceleration. So some people ask “where could you go that fast“? The answer to that question is having the capability and to be able to enjoy the exhilaration of a fast car between 30 and 40...
