Question for FLX Blade owners and riders, male and female, who are no taller than 5'7" or 170.18 cm.

If you own or ride a FLX Blade and you are 5'7" (170.18 cm) tall or less, do you have any issues with the one-size Blade frame option 19" (48.26 cm) which is considered a large? Or is it just right? I believe the original Blade which I test rode had fat tires and the performance was amazing...

    PAS VS TORQUE sensor

Thank you, that is a thoughtful, clear, and descrptive answer with really good information. Juiced should use it in their literature. It sounds like one of the best PAS systems available on commercial bikes. Tora and Juiced are pushing the envelope correctly in terms of innovation, quality...

    PAS VS TORQUE sensor

Juiced Bikes uses a cadence plus torque system https://www.juicedbikes.com/pages/torque-vs-cadence-sensors Does anyone know anything about their PAS system? Is it actually new and improved or just marketing? Any reviews on their PAS? Is it available as an aftermarket setup?

The FLX Blade - Solid FUN!

(Continued) It is a great looking bike. Any components you wish were different or want to upgrade? I think the SRAM EX-1 is a solid match. You happy with the front suspension?

The FLX Blade - Solid FUN!

There is a youtube video (if I find it I will post the link) of guys tying fishing line on their bikes. It is unnoticable. They set up a hidden camera and when thieves start riding the wheels lock up and the thief hits the pavement. Jasonatepaint. Would the 19 inch frame be ok for someone...

US proposes 25% tariffs on Chinese ebikes

I don’t think a tariff will stimulate ebike production in the USA. Plus Bafang and TDCM (in Taiwan which should not be affected) are the only mass production motor suppliers offering motors greater than a measly 350W.

Mid drives vs Hub drives ???

Too bad BionX is in bankruptcy because their hub drives supposedly did not exert as much load and stress on the rear wheel compared to other hub drives, and they were quiet and effective. I have not heard of rear wheel failures or rear frame failures directly related to hub drives used on...

PAS (Pedal Assist System) Redux. As the late Al Davis almost said "Just Pedal, Baby!"

I believe Stromer's are TDCM hub drives which deliver the performance of J Miller's 1. and 2.

Mid drives vs Hub drives ???

High End TDCM hub drives rock. They meet Calif. Class 3 performance with comfortable rider pedelec input, same for climbs. And they are durable, reliable, and offer a well integrated PAS. But, cost more.

    750 Watts

The SR Suntour ATS HESC hub motor with an external heat sink has 500w nominal, 80nm torque and excellent high demand long term performance. Heat sinks are not used enough on any size motor.

Electric Bike Laws in the United States

Regulation clouds are forming faster than we think. Check out this link: http://www.businessinsider.com/electric-scooter-startup-war-in-san-francisco-2018-4 Electric bikes may be next in the crosshairs. Government regulation is written and administered with a broad, dull, painful axe...

    750 Watts

If you are concerned about street legal, I believe the best comprehensive guidance is California AB-1096 which starts: An “electric bicycle” is a bicycle equipped with fully operable pedals and an electric motor of less than 750 watts. I believe they consider 750W nominal as acceptable. Big...

PAS (Pedal Assist System) Redux. As the late Al Davis almost said "Just Pedal, Baby!"

I tossed up a wordy question to start a recent PAS thread and I want to try again, please. This following question is for non-throttle riding in all ride conditions other than MTB riding and off-road environments. Does anyone own or ride an ebike that allows you to forget you have a motor and...
