    Broken PAS disc

I just went through this on my 2016 RADROVER. I ended up ordering the replacement from Rad and bought the crank puller. Pretty easy job; but would be very difficult without the crank puller.

    Contact Rad?

Just an update...heard from RAD on Friday and got a quote on my part which is apparently in stock. I think it took 9 calendar days to get a quote as I understand these folks are both working form home and simultaneously swamped with business. Part on order. All good.

    Contact Rad?

Thank you. Interesting. I guess that would mean the purpose of the PAS sensor is only to determine if the crank is in motion - not the crank speed?

    Contact Rad?

Sorry, from the pieces I was able to gather it looks like it had 6 magnets (2016 RADROVER)

    Contact Rad?

No, not the sensor...the disk that mounts on the crank shaft that the sensor reads. It's missing in this pic.

    Contact Rad?

Thanks for the input here folks. I broke a magnetic disk last week and am still waiting for a response to my request for a quote. Sounds like it will be a while and the part will likely be out of stock. Unfortunately I can't find anything that looks like a suitable replacement elsewhere (any...

    Car bike rack for radrover

I purchased this rack: https://www.1up-usa.com/product/2in-super-duty-double-bike-rack It's not cheap and to accommodate the fat tire bikes, you need to purchase a fat tire adapter kit. It can take up to two 75# bikes -- so handles the RadRover with ease. It's a little heavy at 47 lbs, but is...

Charging after "each and every use"?

I am really glad to see this post. With the battery about 1/3 the cost of the bike, it doesn't seem there is enough focus on good battery charging practices. I am on year #2 with my RadRover (800 total miles). Last year I used to plug in immediately after a ride and let it sit plugged in at...

Known Issues & Problems with Rad Power Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Just an update on my downhill/uphill no assist issue with my speed based PAS Radrover. MrGold was absolutely correct. If I wait to start pedaling until my speed is below my high speed cutoff, all is good. PAS comes on as needed at the level I have it set at. If I start pedaling at a higher...

Best way to carry two Radrovers?

I have been looking at this rack. Not cheap either. About $640 once you put in the fat bike tire adapter for 2 bikes. It wouldn't work with the new RadRover fenders, but I think would be OK with the older, shorter style and certainly good for no fenders. 75 lb per bike cacapacity. Appears...

How To Downgrade/Reprogram RadRover Controller Firmware?

I would agree a torque based controller would likely suit me best. I haven't done the research, but am guessing that technology is priced beyond the very reasonable price of the RadRover.

How To Downgrade/Reprogram RadRover Controller Firmware?

I can fully understand your point. But for my type of riding with pretty much constantly changing incline/decline, I want the "wind at my back" to be changing constantly to reflect the terrain. I am not after a constant speed but am also looking for a level of workout. Constant power isn't...

That pesky battery rubber charge port cover.

I put a little dielectric grease on mine on occasion and it goes in relatively effortlessly (but not perfect).

Known Issues & Problems with Rad Power Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Interesting. I haven't tried to wait to begin pedaling until the speed is below the PAS cutoff. I'll see if that makes a difference. I already have the cutoff speed maxed out (we have some fast dogs around here - that is my escape method). This whole thing is more of an annoyance than a...

Known Issues & Problems with Rad Power Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

My April/May 2016 vintage RadRover (600 miles) has developed a quirk. On occasion (not always) if I make a steep descent at a fairly high speed (30+ mph) quickly followed by a steep ascent the PAS does not kick in at the appropriate speed (nor does the hand throttle work). Once I come to a...

How To Downgrade/Reprogram RadRover Controller Firmware?

I follow any of these threads on controller configuration with interest. I am a 59 yo male (Mechanical Engineer) living in Western Massachusetts. I ride my April/May 2016 vintage RadRover primarily on 2 lane paved and dirt country roads - lots of rolling hills with some reasonably long/steep...

    RadRover pedal assist levels

I saw in one of the other posts you can return your controller to Rad and they will update it for a $25 fee. You pay shipping to them and they cover return handling. Pretty reasonable if you ask me. mrgold35 - I very much appreciate your comments. I certainly understand the benefits you have...

    RadRover pedal assist levels

I am following this thread with interest. I purchased my Radrover last year for the Berkshire hills here in western MA - lots of ups/downs and not a lot of flat terrain. While I thought it may benefit from more speed choices on the lower end (especially when riding with my wife on her...

    Best winter battery storage tips

Thanks again to all. I now have a good handle on winter storage (working on getting my battery level down), but this all now begs a different question. During the riding season I typically run my battery down to about 50% on a 15 mile ride and immediately plug my bike in upon my return...
