1 Year Review Specialized Vado 4 (3000 miles)

Great point Stefan....I might just consider doing that. I know some folks hate to hear us go on and on concerning Specialized products, but frankly they are just that good. Supreme bicycle engineering. Take care.

Trek Allant+ 8s $1000 off on sale in the US

What's going on with Trek.....seems like a fire sale on some models. Are they moving product, or is this a sign of the times....too much inventory with Covid-19?

Review Ride1Up Prodigy V2 XR (chain version)

Greetings. Let me try to explain. I have seen similar videos on YouTube in reference to the Prodigy V2, claiming as high as 73 miles in TOUR mode. In my testing, I have only registered roughly 50 miles in Tour mode (almost 100% support), which is still excellent. ECO mode, which is almost...

Review Ride1Up Prodigy V2 XR (chain version)

Thanks for the comments. Yes, this is a nice bike, especially for the price. I am 6'2, and it is a tight fit. I purchased a longer seat post (400mm), and that solved that problem. I did advise another rider in a separate forum concerning which bike to pick; the Prodigy V2 or the Vado 4. The...

Review Ride1Up Prodigy V2 XR (chain version)

I acquired the Prodigy V2 XR chain version, and it boasts a premium feel, offering solid stability at high speeds. The attention to detail at this price point is remarkable, drawing parallels to my Specialized Vado 4. While not an apples-to-apples comparison due to the Vado's larger battery and...

CHANGING 50T TO 60T ON COMO (PROBABLY APPLIES TO LEVO, KENEVO, VADO)

Well done. I agree, the 50t is too small....it should have come with a 60t for greater top speed.

Range estimate Trek 8s when first powered on

Interesting. Just got my bike back from the LBS that had it for about 3 weeks. Trek and Bosch were great! They replaced the board and gave me a new battery to make sure things were right. Currently, after about 2 rides, the range seems to be better, but it has been fairly cold here, so I...

Range estimate Trek 8s when first powered on

Update on Battery Range Issues: After clocking in 3500 miles on my '23 Trek 8s, I found myself needing to address some concerning issues with the battery system. Comparing it to my previous '22 Trek 8s, which consistently delivered approximately 90 miles in ECO mode before Bosch's 10% shutoff...

Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0, Cannondale Tesoro Neo X Speed or Trek Allant+ 8S???

Both bikes have the Bosch Ebike System 2, so I suspect there is something else going on. Lately, the last two weeks, charging the battery to 100% is reached, but the next day when the bike is turned on, it reads 98%. On the way to the LBS. If this issue isn't resolved, I will be waiting on...

Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0, Cannondale Tesoro Neo X Speed or Trek Allant+ 8S???

Great observation....will have to look in to that a little more. I will say this, now that I think about it. The '22 Trek would stop support at 26.5 mph.....and a lot of other riders also noticed that. This bike pushes a little past 28mph. Lap times are pretty identical, but the range is...

Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0, Cannondale Tesoro Neo X Speed or Trek Allant+ 8S???

I am the proud owner of both a 2023 Specialized Vado 4 and a 2023 Trek 8s, marking my second time owning these exact models. Previously, I had the 2022 versions of both bikes, which I adored but eventually sold to family members who couldn't afford new ones. The '22 Trek 8s, despite its quirky...

Considering a Specialized, got a few questions

Ditto @Stefan Mikes ....well said. Vado 4 at the current discount pricing is a steal in my opinion....and I have owned 2, plus one Vado 4 SL. Hope that helps...

    Alternative rack for Allant+ 8

Yes, that would have been nice, but this is really a better option than what Trek stuck us with. I still scratch my head as to why they did this. I own a Vado 4, and it has a normal rack and suspension fork and seat post, and so does its big brother, the Vado 5. Trek should have followed...

    Alternative rack for Allant+ 8

Because the spacing was tight between the MIK top plate and the fender, I installed my spare MIK adapter on to the top plate...redundant somewhat, but it is easier to put the bag on, and take it off.

    Alternative rack for Allant+ 8

It is a "snug" fit, but it is working. If need be, I already have a MIK adapter that I could attach to Giant MIK Adapter (sounds crazy) but doing so would give me more clearance. If I decide to take that route, I will post an update. At the same time the straps work perfectly for you, and it...
