    Luna X2 Bafang Clutch Failed

I have had the X2 for about 2 months and last month the Bafang M600 clutch failed when riding over a techy section of trail and the pedal slipped. I ride in Florida so nothing crazy. The bike Luna X2 has 120 miles on it and is NON Ludi M600 Bafang. I opened a ticket with Luna but wanted to post...

    Fat Tire Bike Hitch Racks

I have Luna X1 and now the new X2 ebikes. They both use the same 500 watt Bafang M600 motor. The Powerfly uses the Bosch gen 4 85nm motor. Yes the 500 watt Bafang has more power but I am also 80lb heaver (210 lb) than my wife. When I ride the Powerfly it climbs well enough. If you want a Bafang...

Which CO2 inflator are you packing?

Convert rim to tubeless. Use tubeless ready tires. Get a Stans plug kit. Have an innertube for an emergency. It will take 4 16g CO2 to get about 10 psi in a 26x4 tire. Best solution is prevention. Tubeless will seal most punctures. I use the Endurance Orange sealant.

    Luna X2 - First Impressions

I just got my X2. Holiday delayed the shipping but looks like no damage! I have had an X1 since last April so this is the replacement. National Locater For Trek E Bikes?

I just went through something very similar to this when buying a Trek Powerfly FS 4 in small. Local bike shop stock was Zero. So we called and googled dealers in state and out of state to find one in stock 1k miles away. We called and asked if they would sell us the bike and ship the bike to our...

    Juiced Ripcurrent S Cassette Swap

Park Tool FR-5.2 Cassette Lockring Tool 20-30lb torque to install per Shimano. No real way to verify the torque using a wrench so do your best to guess. The locking ring has teeth so it’s not smooth when torquing so it slips then grabs. Cassette install, new chain 128 links and tubeless setup...

Tannus Armour now available in Fat Sizes

It's been 6 months and the replacement Maxxis tire has been good. Switched over to tubeless setup about 5 months ago and have had zero issues. I do have a set of Tannus armour in my shed that I have been meaning to sell on ebay :).

    Trek Powerfly 4 & 5

I wanted to upgrade the rear shock to another but the powerfly has such a small area in the frame for the shock. The lockout lever has a tight tolerance. A remote controlled shock lockout is possible but seems unnecessary for the powerfly. How is the SIDLuxe select+ On the Powerfly 9? Specs look...

    Trek Powerfly 4 & 5

The Powerfly FS 4 was our choice as I always upgrade parts. The lower price of the Powerfly FS 4 over the Powerfly 9 was about $2k. Parts installed and on order: The seat dropper on the Powerfly 4 is a Tranzx and is too hard to compress by hand or elbow. Replacing it with a Fox Transfer and...

    Trek Powerfly 4 & 5

I have a KS dropper and the effort to push down the seat is half that of the Tranzx. Dealer said they can adjust but no way to change the pressure.

    Trek Powerfly 4 & 5

How difficult is it to push the seat dropper down on your bike? The Powerfly 4 seat dropper takes alot of effort to push the seat down. While seating it work fine but get off and try to push the seat down and she has to lean her upper body over it to push it. We will address with the dealer.

    Juiced Ripcurrent S Cassette Swap

Currently all RCS bikes come with 9 speed 11-32 Shimano cassette's and I wanted to change the 1st gear from the 32 tooth which does not provide alot of steep hill climbing ability. Shimano offers Altus CS-HG200-9 in three different gearing specs. 11-32 and 11-34 and 11-36. I am going to install...

New Tubeless Ready Rims for RCS Research

So after working on the RCS I wanted to share a procedure that helps hold the rear wheel on with just 1 person. I have used a velcro strip to hold the rear tire and wheel tight against the drop outs. This allows for the washers and nuts to be installed. This only works if you have a rear rack...
