Can you recommend to me a good bike for 1500 or less, details follow

What was it she didn't like about the Flow? Did it have to do with the old Espin PAS system? I know they changed that for the 2021 model - apparently much improved.

Can you recommend to me a good bike for 1500 or less, details follow

The Pace has a little bit smaller battery, slightly lower top gear, and more expensive. The 500 has granular control over PAS ranges and each power level. If you have an LBS that handles Aventon or want a specific frame size, that would make Aventon more worth considering.

    Hi, senior from Denver!!

??? Shame on me? I was never angry, and I never said you were lying. I even gave a reason for why they might have outsourced your question, so that doesn't mesh with thinking you were lying. I was otherwise just providing you with what I've been hearing over more than a year of following...

Can you recommend to me a good bike for 1500 or less, details follow

Ride1Up easily. The PAS is configurable in both the ranges and for the power percentage of every assist level so that it can assist just to the power you that you want in any level. It also uses a power based assist rather than a speed based assist that acts like a cruise control. These...

    Hi, senior from Denver!!

The height range is clearly specific on the website. You should review the specs there rather than calling support. They might have outsourced your question because it was a basic spec request that is clearly shown on their website. But, inseam plays a role as well. I've never heard of...

Consumer Reports - 'Is an E-bike right for you?'

Nothing about mid dive, nothing about torque vs. cadence. I skimmed over it quickly - maybe some useful bits for a beginner.

    Picking an ebike

If you're looking at the Aventon for buying on the internet, you should consider a Ride1Up 700 unless you're really short and need a smaller frame. It's very similar, but the Ride1Up 700 has a much better fully customizable PAS system (for ranges as well as granular control of each power...

Anybody had a bad battery in Ride1Up LMTD ?

Yes, that does sound more like a battery issue if it's only charging to 52.5 V when completely isolated from the bike with a known good charger. Hopefully support will assist you quickly to get back on the road. I know some people have had batteries fail completely due to a blown fuse, easily...

Anybody had a bad battery in Ride1Up LMTD ?

That sounds like a controller issue. There have been some failures of those with LMTDs causing similar problems. I don't recall anyone reporting that the battery was bad. At 49V, the battery still is showing a good charge, and the bike should still work fine with that, even less. A full...

    Picking an ebike

The 700 is a great choice. I bought one of those a few months ago. I prefer the the customizable PAS, tires, and higher top gear over the Aventon. Aventon is better for sizes and some LBS's that sell them in different areas. I do my own service and never even asked the nearest LBS if they...

    Paint quality

I've had mine for months and haven't really thought about it. It seems fine to me. Some people would like more color choices. I have the gunmetal grey. Sometimes paint can get scratched, scraped, chipped during shipping.

    Ride1UP Core-5 Reviews

I know how the "old" Espin system you have works in detail. It doesn't provide consistent power in a given PAS level - very unnatural. I would hate that. That is what people complain about with cadence based assist because that's what they have experience with. I've known someone to rip out...

    Ride1UP Core-5 Reviews

LOL. It works just like the 700's assist, which is what I have. Plenty of people have posted detailed feedback in the FB group. Companies like Ride1Up and Espin have moved away from speed based assist in their latest generations, so that should tell you something about which is better. The...

    Ride1UP Core-5 Reviews

No the Core-5 doesn't work like that. It's a true cadence sensor bike just like the 700, and it works like the 700, using the superior power based assist rather than inferior speed based assist, so it applies consistent power rather than acting as a cruise control that changes with speed...

Houston Commuter Bike (15 miles one way)

I went with a Ride1Up 700 personally with no regrets, but I was interested in an Allant 7s+ last year, but the dealer didn't have any in stock. It uses a Bosch motor and would be the most reliable.

    Hi, senior from Denver!!

Yes, I have a 700, and it's class 3. It even says class 3 on the emblem on the front. An alternative similarly price step through bike that is popular among some members of this forum that is class 2 is the Espin Flow. 5'3" is listed as the low end of the rider height...

Ride1Up Ltd Seat-post specs are incorrect

Even the same model of Ride1Up bike has shipped with different seat post sizes. My 700 came in early March with a 31.6 seatpost. Some 700s's come with 30.4. It's definitely something you want to verify by checking the seat post on your bike. I checked my post before ordering my suspension...

750W geared hub motor bikes? Ride1Up LMTD, Juiced CCS2 or more?

On the 700 with the KD218 display, you can limit the throttle top speed from 11 to 28 mph. The 500 and Core-5 use a different display, and I don't know if they have that option. However, more specific to what you asked, there is no max current setting specific to throttle that can be adjusted...

750W geared hub motor bikes? Ride1Up LMTD, Juiced CCS2 or more?

My Ride1Up 700 will do 1000 watts with the stock controller - I think that's true of the 500 as well. Go into the advanced settings of the display and change the highest PAS to 100%. My 700 came with PAS 5 (of 5) defaulted to 70% and PAS 9 (of 9) defaulted to 82%. I changed to the 0 to 9...
