    Bicycle insurance

I would be willing to bet insurance against theft requires you to take at least minimal precautions. I would be very surprised if any insurance company covered theft of a bike that was just left sitting out unlocked and unattended in a public place.

    Say Hello To Storm

Awesome video for those of us that are already committed to OD'ing on the subject, but at over 18 minutes it takes longer to watch than a rerun of Seinfeld. I doubt many of the curious will invest the time. I would suggest maybe boiling it down to a roughly three minute balance of enthusiastic...

Another Cheapo - this time on Indiegogo

As Ann M. pointed out above, there's a very active thread on this in the "Other" forum: http://electricbikereview.com/community/threads/say-hello-to-storm.1228/

    Say Hello To Storm

Having put my $400 down on the Dillenger already, I can tell you if I had seen the Storm first I almost certainly would have gotten that instead. Mostly because I think it would be easier to resell. I think the big difference is the form factor. Folding bikes are for eccentric old folks...

    Say Hello To Storm

And that one has some gears, pedal assist and a 48V battery. Let's go in together and buy 10 of them instead! I'll take two.

Another Cheapo - this time on Indiegogo

Hydraulic disc brakes. 45 pounds. $499 is before $194 shipping. They promise shipping will be lower, but that is the MOST it will be. Second battery for $179. They've got orders for 2250 of them already. 3 days left.

Another Cheapo - this time on Indiegogo

Since we love discussing these... Storm Electric bike 350W rear hub motor, 36v 10ah lithium ion battery, big fat 29" x 4" tires, $500. Pics show disk brakes. but they're not mentioned in the specs. Looks like throttle only, no gears. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/storm-electric-bike

    looking for suggestions

There are a few BikeLids in Fells in Baltimore, but would love to see more of them in more places. It's a pretty nice solution. You can leave one or two bikes, helmets and even some gear secured with a single U-Lock. We should lobby local businesses and organizations to install things like...

Dillenger Stealth: closer to GenZe e101 or eMotion Nitro?

Thanks! I met Alan at Big Wheel Bikes a couple of weekends ago. Rode a few bikes around the parking lot, but it was a little too crappy out to take one out on the trail. He's the one that has the awesome deal on the E Motion Carbon. I intend to go back when we have a relatively decent day to...

Would appreciate member POV on new commuter.

Mike, I have a hangover from the cocktails I felt compelled to go have after trying to read your article about finding the perfect match with a cellphone. :-) I agree about the internal gears. Rohloff is pretty damn expensive though. Maybe take a look at one of the Dillengers with Bafang...

Dillenger Stealth: closer to GenZe e101 or eMotion Nitro?

So first off, I seem to find myself defending Dillenger here even though I have no reason to believe they deserve it. But I also have no reason to believe they deserve such condemnation based on one disgruntled customer who insisted they continue to replace something that uniquely broke...

Dillenger Stealth: closer to GenZe e101 or eMotion Nitro?

I definitely did not mean to imply that I had any specific confidence that the Dillenger bikes would be of comparable quality to Easy Motion. I like the combination of components. Based on the reading I've been doing 750W mid-drive w/ 48V Samsung batteries is a pretty good place to start for...

Dillenger Stealth: closer to GenZe e101 or eMotion Nitro?

I contributed to both kickstarters. I've been toying with the idea of the various all-in-wheel kits but I really like this approach better than Copenhagen, FlyKly, or Omni. I hope it gets funded. And $380 for a folding bike with fenders, lights, and panniers is kind of hard to beat. I figure...

Dillenger Stealth: closer to GenZe e101 or eMotion Nitro?

I'm really liking the specs on this Dillenger Steath Legacy 700c: https://dillengerelectricbikes.com Samsung 48V 8amp battery integrated into the downtube. Paired with a Bafang 750W mid drive, Shimano Nexus 8 internal hub, Suntour suspension fork and 30mph top speed. At $2k Price is much...

    My Son's Neo Carbon

I've been all over the map trying to figure out what I want. Ultimately I figured I'd start small and mod my current bike, so I just contributed to this kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1182676007/uncomprimising-wireless-blue-tooth-e-bike-conversi Cheers.

    MAC 500W 8T Conversion

Interesting. I hadn't seen this. Just contributed, but with only a week to go and less than half way there it may not get fully funded. I think this kit would work better for me than the various all-in-one wheels coming out. And for about half the price of entry.

    My Son's Neo Carbon

86: Did you ever sell your bike? A dealer not to far from me has several new Neo Carbons in boxes. Offering them for $3600 and an extra 12a battery for $400. I really love the look of that bike, but am thinking my backside would probably prefer a commuter style bike.

    The Omni Wheel

I've been keeping an eye peeled for a review of that one too. There is a lot I like about it.

    Bafang and NuVinci?

I'd like to see how the Harmony and H|Sync work out. Having an auto shifting NuVinci might be just the ticket. Pick a cadence and let the computer adjust the gear automatically.
