Schwalbe Energizer Plus vs. Marathon Plus

Thanks for your continued wisdom, @Ravi Kempaiah! That's the sense I got from my research, although I didn't realize the Marathon Plus tires weighed more. I live in a 3rd floor walkup so any extra weight on top of the Arroyo's existing 60lbs is a big deal. As for width, I'd love a wider tire...

NYC finally considering legalizing class 2 throttle eBikes

Lots of great points and I agree. The current e-bike laws in NYC (and likely elsewhere too) seem to be based on a small but vocal part of the population's perception that e-bikes are inherently dangerous and somehow more menacing than cars — a perception that has not been backed up by any hard...

Schwalbe Energizer Plus vs. Marathon Plus

So my Gazelle Arroyo came stock with 28" x 1.75" Energizer Plus tires, and I've been wondering if Marathon Plus tires would be considered an upgrade or just make for a different riding experience. I was drawn to the Marathon Plus' better puncture protection, but I saw they have slightly lower...

Bosch Speed Performance system shuts down mid ride.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'll be stopping by Propel this weekend so I'm hopeful my Arroyo will be rideable again soon. @Ravi Kempaiah Were the QC issues you heard about pertaining the battery mount like mentioned above?

Bosch Speed Performance system shuts down mid ride.

Update 2: Thought replacing the display + mount did the trick after I went for a 20 mile ride and didn't experience any shutdowns. Unfortunately, the next day my bike shut down 7 times during another 20 mile ride and today it shut down 5 times over the course of a few miles. Frustrating to say...

Does anybody know where I can replacement cases and parts for the Intuvia Display and trigger?

Glad you're alright! And my bad — I misread your post. I’d try asking your local dealer (if you have one), Propel, or Bosch / Bulls directly. My limited research didn't turn up any individual Intuvia parts available for sale, but I'd be surprised if your only option was to purchase a new...

Does anybody know where I can replacement cases and parts for the Intuvia Display and trigger?

I know Propel sells mounting hardware for the Intuvia: https://propelbikes.com/product/bosch-intuvia-display-holder-all-systems-html/ https://propelbikes.com/product/bosch-mounting-kit-for-intivia-display-html/ Hope you're okay by the way!

Giant Quick-E + can you use it in the rain

I don't have experience with your particular bike, however, LBS told me there's no need to worry about rain unless you're leaving your e-bike outside in heavy rain for extended periods of time (e.g. a whole day) or you're submerging it in water.

    Front or rear basket?

Ended up taking @ebikemom's advice and purchased this nifty rear side basket from Tern that clips onto the pannier hanger using the Ortlieb mounting system...

    Stop Intuvia display from swivelling?

Update — Stopped by Propel Bikes today and they tighten the display mount + placed a shim between the mount and handlebars. Display is MUCH stabler now and only swivels if you intentionally move it.

Bosch Speed Performance system shuts down mid ride.

Update! Stopped by Propel today and got a new Intuvia + display mount installed per their recommendation. Also asked them to tighten the display mount so the Intuvia doesn't swivel back every time I ride over bumps. Haven't ridden much since then, but no problems so far! They said that if it...

Bosch Speed Performance system shuts down mid ride.

This has started happening to me as of this week and it's really frustrating. Today alone my bike shut down 11 times on my commute to / from work. Spoke with Nahim at Propel Bikes via email, and he echoed @Chris Nolte's comments saying that it's likely an issue with either the Intuvia display or...

    Stop Intuvia display from swivelling?

Is there any way to anchor the Intuvia display? I like it angled closest to me, but every time I go over a bump it slowly swivels back and eventually ends up facing almost completely away from me.

Greetings from new e-bike owner in NYC

Hey folks ? I've been perusing EBR for a little while now, but wanted to take a moment to formerly introduce myself and say thank you! @Court's reviews and all of your posts have been incredibly helpful in my e-bike research. I got hooked on e-bikes earlier this year when NYC's bike share...

    Theft prevention with Purion

Lucky. I checked with my renter's insurance and was told e-bikes are considered motor vehicles in New York so they won't cover it. I ended up insuring my bike through Velsurance, though, and it's only $190/year.

    Front or rear basket?

Well, upon further inspection, I realized the tail end of the Arroyo's rack actually curves up a bit which, coupled with the seat hanging over the other end of the rack, makes mounting a basket difficult. Looks like panniers might be the best option.

    Front or rear basket?

Thanks for posting this, @Scooteretti! Looking at the instructions, it seems the Thule basket can be mounted to the side rails and doesn't require the rack to have a deck, is that correct?

    Front or rear basket?

Thanks for the responses, folks! Still evaluating my options, but I have a question about my Arroyo's rear rack. I noticed there's no mounting hardware included in the center of the rack (other than bungee cords) that would allow you to attach a basket, trunk bag, or other accessory...

    Hello from Massachusetts.

Welcome! I don't have experience with Lime Bikes personally but, from what I've read, their setup is similar to what Citi Bike does here in NYC with their dock-based bike share — ops folks drive around and swap out depleted batteries for fresh ones, then take the used ones back to the wearhouse...

Dual Batteries on an eBike ... ????

R&M's dual batteries are actually charged simultaneously when you charge them on the bike. Also, wouldn't using the batteries simultaneously prolong their lifespan? https://www.r-m.de/en-us/technology/dualbattery/
