Which chain is on the Vado 5.0?

Geschafft 👍 And you're proving real Voortrekker spirit by testing the chainring with the diagram on the outside, just like @GuruUno. Might rename you "GuruDue" afterwards.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Easy, if someone could provide the RAL code. Without it? Better invest in a lottery ticket. Is it a matt grey? Then you could start with this colour: https://www.revell.com/products/colors-accessories/aqua-color/aqua-color-light-grey-usaf-matt-18ml.html And the best of it: it is USAF grey, so...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

So it seems you think my real name is "Nobody", hmm hmm. ☺️ I use Revell Aqua Color black matt acryl paint 36108 [for model building] for my Vado (black matt, you wouldn't believe it, would you?) 😅 Works fine.

Chain guard sheared off of chain ring + a few other things

11-speed-chain is 11-speed-chain and their width is norm. Can't be the reason. But Loctite thread lock is for metal to metal screw connections, and Loctite blue isn't the right Loctite for small screws, too (thats purple or 222 Loctite).

    Alternative Turbo Vado 4 tyres

Schwalbe Smart Sam Plus was my advice, too. But are you sure that you're using Schwalbe Smart Sam size 50-622? 🤔Thought it was 47-622 (28x1,75). Schwalbe doesn't offer Smart Sam Plus in size 50-622: https://www.schwalbe.com/de/mtb-reader/smart-sam-plus

Chain guard sheared off of chain ring + a few other things

So your bolts are M8x8mm nominal size? Perfect even for the Specialized chainring if you apply some grease (because they are steel). You've done well to buy plenty so now you could sell some to GuruUno. And remember they are rare, if you put the price tag on 😅.

Chain guard sheared off of chain ring + a few other things

Wolf Tooth states 7-8 Nm torque so yes, strong enough. And the Specialized chainring is Al, too. But 10mm ist too long. 21€ for a set, hughh.

Chain guard sheared off of chain ring + a few other things

C'mon, terrier, tug on Zach's pant leg one more time, and you're almost there. Just measured my old Specialized chainringbolts precisely (see pics) : 8,81 mm total length (total always includes the bolt head) , should be 7,5 mm nominal bolt length. 6mm? Never.

    Brake Pad Wear

What is your understanding of "long term riding"? I expect my resin pads to last for 5.000 km. Metallic pads could last even longer but I fear their rust could creep all over my bike. 😄 😇

Chain guard sheared off of chain ring + a few other things

Yes, in their cataloque I found M8x10mm chainringbolts but aluminium only.

Chain guard sheared off of chain ring + a few other things

Can't be, too short. 5 = Size of the Allen (tool). So Zach's answer ist missing the most important info.

Chain guard sheared off of chain ring + a few other things

The 10mm outer diameter is for your nuts, so your bolts are M8 =8mm, too. Your bolt length is 7mm, "up to 9mm" applies in combination with the nuts only. But 7mm bolt length could still be OK.

Chain guard sheared off of chain ring + a few other things

Maybe these from Origin8 ("M8x8mm Bolt"), #22217 but chrome only: http://www.origin8.bike/product/double-triple-chainring-bolts-22217 or these (presently out of stock): https://www.modernbike.com/origin8-thruster-1x-road-chainring-bolt-set-black-m8x7.5mm-bolt---m8x7mm-nut

Chain guard sheared off of chain ring + a few other things

It is Specialized. ;) Having a few spares of parts that are hard to find is the best you can do. Together with Loctite blue the Origin8 bolts should get/keep you on the road again even being shorter than the Original. Which are so special even the LBS do not stock/can order them.

Chain guard sheared off of chain ring + a few other things

This site https://www.jbi.bike/site/product_details.php?part_number=22054 is more precise and states for your origin8 bolts : M8x6mm, total length 7mm. The original Specialized chainring bolts have a total length of 9mm. So you're missing 2mm length (not just: 1mm). No, I searched but didn't...

Chain guard sheared off of chain ring + a few other things

Your picture doesn't tell it exactly but the bolt on the left looks like a M8x6mm (so it's too short, you're looking for M8x8mm at least). Which is typical for bolt+nut combinations. Search on for single bolts.

Swap Como 4.0 48T chainring with Vado 4.0 40T chainring

No. Not necessary, too much fuss. Size? whatever your choice is I paid app. 20€ for my (black) Deckas 40T chainring, incl. bolts. But you could get one in that fasterest beloved red, too. 🤣 S171400001 for Specialized 40T chainring, 50€. S179900041 for Specialized 40T bashguard 10 - 15€...

    Specialized Turbo Vado size question

There are mixed experiences with the BLOKS display. At the beginning it wasn't "waterproof" but that was fixed. I never ever hat a problem with the BLOKS display of my Vado 4.0 MY2018 and still like it. Didn't dare to switch it to TCD-W although I'd be entitled to do so. If it fails I could...

    Specialized Turbo Vado size question

I understood the OP is 6' but not 6'2" tall. 🤔 At 6'2" I was in between the Vado L oder XL diamond frame. The reach of the XL frame suited me best so I went XL. Never thought about a M frame, far too small. Vado 5.0 is a fine bike and if the OP can buy one in these days of short supply ->...

Chain guard sheared off of chain ring + a few other things

No. No need to go through an unnecessary bleeding process for just determining: it wasn't necessary. Just take a simple syringe as pictured, open the screw of the brake fluid reservoir and suck up a bit of the brake fluid. So you can compare the colour with the colour of new original Shimano...
