ThomasK, I have worked with a company on Segway batteries for years. If you have a dead Bosch battery they would love to dissect it and see if it's worth repairing. It takes a little work to legally ship a large Li-Ion battery but they can get it done. I am in no way affiliated with this...

I have been dealing with Segway batteries for years. They work for years or they die and early death. It can be just one cell that failed, or the Battery System Module (BSM). Either way if I read the Bosch warranty correctly the Batteries are warrantied for 2 years. From Trek's Website...

The Trek line of bicycles includes both Bosch and Shimano based drive systems. I just purchased a Trek xm700+ and I'm thrilled with the ease of use. If you have a local Trek dealer you should give this a look. jeff

In the box with my battery and such I received a circle decal with a bite taken out. It seems to match the cover on the left side of the motor. Do any of you know why they ship this extra decal? jeff

Great idea, but as a plump man that needs an xxl waist and only 30-32 inseam, seems like I would be out of luck. Perhaps they could be hemmed by a local seamstress. My step-dad owned a men's clothing stores, the number of sizes of blue-jeans he had to carry was just amazing. jeff
