    Bosch Kiox wheel circumference limit

The Drive Unit measures/controls speed based on the factory-programmed wheel circumference. We designed the 5% variation, or "wheel size correction" feature to allow dealers/riders to adjust the displayed speed to account for a change in tire size, closer matching to a riding partner's bike, or...

    Bosch Kiox wheel circumference limit

Hello, Wheel circumference is set at the factory by the OEM. The adjustment that you can make in Kiox, and/or that the dealer can make with the Bosch software allows up to a 5% variation, and is purely "cosmetic," aka it will change displayed speed, but not actual speed. Different OEMs measure...

    Product Improvement:- Feedback to Bosch.

For a little more context, your same exact issue is common with non-eBikes too. The culprit is usually one of the overlooked, more subtle issues I listed above. Let us know what you find out!

Could be, but usually a damaged chain ring causes dropped chains up front, not skipping gears in the back.

That sounds like a hassle, sorry you are having to deal with it. Not sure the exact condition of your setup, but used housing can be just as harmful as used cable when it comes to shifting performance. The inner wires that line the walls begin to protrude at the ends, and can cause excessive...

    Product Improvement:- Feedback to Bosch.

This is most likely a drive train adjustment issue. If chain/cassette are new, I'd also confirm overall derailleur adjustment, including B-tension. Another common cause of wonky, seemingly phantom issues can be a bent or misaligned derailleur hanger. Outside of that, excessive cross-chaining can...

    Motor "kick-back" when stop pedaling

Hello! What you are experiencing is normal. The Gen3 Drive Units have a different design than the Gen4 Drive Units. Gen4 has a ratchet mechanism that allows free, forward motion of the chain ring even when the cranks are not moving. This is similar to Gen2 Drive Units. Gen3 uses a one-way...

List of bikes with Powertube 500 vertical for gravel

My apologies for the delay on the batteries. Unfortunately, pretty much everything is backed-up in the bicycle industry right now due to the pandemic. I believe this is the case for many other industries as well. I'm not sure on the specifics of which exact part(s) of the supply chain is...

List of bikes with Powertube 500 vertical for gravel

Yes! This is what I was trying to express earlier, but I failed. :( It is 100% for the purpose of allowing design flexibility for OEMs. Bosch uses the same lithium battery cells and the same battery management system (BMS) but offers (2) different "packaging" options to alleviate some of...

List of bikes with Powertube 500 vertical for gravel

It's a bit confusing on the RIB System... they use the vertical PT battery, but rotate it 90deg so that it sits like a horizontal PT inside the frame. I share some of your sentiment regarding the need for the 2 different variants... it definitely complicates things. The reason behind it is to...

How do you replace Powertube packs with body panels attached?

The designs of these covers vary... it's an OEM-specific part (not Bosch), so your local dealer or brand representative will have the best guidance. Sometimes the panel attaches to the eBike frame, other times it attaches to the T-slot grooves in the extruded case of the battery. That being...

What generation motor do i have

Congrats on the new eBikes! Can you please share a photo of the cable? From the sound of it, it may be a light cable, but won't know until I see it.

Bosch gen 3 (65nm cruise) is it faulty? Or that’s just the way ebikes are?

Those rubber pieces are normal, and are designed to cushion the battery where it rests on the lock mount. Also helps prevent battery noise while riding overly bumpier terrain. Definitely want to keep those intact.

Performance Line CX EU speed limit 25kph change

Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the max. assistance value on any Bosch drive unit. There is absolutely no way to do this. The only way to change the speed the eBike will go is by using some sort of 3rd-party "tuning" device to trick the DU, but this is highly discourage due to major...

    Product Improvement:- Feedback to Bosch.

The original Nyon was never offered or supported in NA, so I'm not too familiar with the functionality. This may be a case where you'll have to rely on the forum's members with more hands-on experience, or contact Bosch support in a supported region. That being said... I can share a few things...

Adjuting the power level in each assist mode using Bosch NYON

Best to check with your local dealer or retail outlet for exact pricing. Our US distributor is not showing any stock yet, so I can't even give you a general estimate. The Google is showing some options from European websites, with pricing in the EUR 340-400 range. I wish I had a better answer...

Adjuting the power level in each assist mode using Bosch NYON

I've not heard anything about this so far, though it would be a really cool option to have! I'm not-so-secretly wishing for it myself.

Adjuting the power level in each assist mode using Bosch NYON

You are correct, as long as we are only talking about Kiox, SPH, and new Nyon. All changes can be made at the handlebars, though it is highly-recommended that the dealer performs a software update any time a new component (display, battery, DU) is introduced into a system.

Adjuting the power level in each assist mode using Bosch NYON

Since Purion is hardwired, and has no separate remote, it's a definite reroute of wiring to DU. I'll add that if upgrading from Purion, you will need the entire "aftermarket kit" with head unit, mount, remote, and DU wiring.

Adjuting the power level in each assist mode using Bosch NYON

Hi all, Kiox, Smartphonehub, and "new" Nyon all use the same DU wiring harness and handlebar remote. Swapping between these (3) displays requires only the headunit and mount (for SPH this is combined) be swapped. The DU wiring harness and handlebar remote are not attached to each other, though...
