What generation motor do i have

Wondering how I can tell what motor I have in my bike.. It's a 2020 model, Bosch performance line. Will this be a gen 3 or gen 4 motor? The drive unit firmware shows 1.3.0.0

Also, both my and my wife's bike came with a small electrical cable in he box with a small plug on the end,. No idea what it's for. Anyone know?

I think you need to read your user manual. I would look online to see sales info. That should answer most of your questions.

It's in German (and my German is not that great) and is non model specific, so applies to all their models, and cares more about legal disclaimers than useful information. Its by far and away the worst owners handbook I have ever seen.

As I said I’m pretty sure if it’s a 2020 model it’s a Gen 4 motor.

My understanding is that's the trim level of bike components. 1.0 to 6.0

Your motor is a Gen 3 motor.
Gen 4 motors have a different design and internals.
The one on the left is Gen 3 and on the right is Gen 4

Can you please share a photo of the cable? From the sound of it, it may be a light cable, but won't know until I see it.
