I'm a newbie regarding tubeless but definitely trending that direction. The mountain bike experience has been wonderful so far. Yeah, the "juice" needs to be added about every 90 - 120 days. This doesn't seem to be an exact science? Then there's choosing your favorite poison. I've gone with...

    Allant+7 thoughts/review

Sometimes the pads get pushed back a bit, those push on the caliper pistons, which must push back out on the disc rotor when you put the wheel back on. It's common and doesn't mean anything is wrong. Most important thing is to look at the brake pads and make sure there's reasonable amount of...

Those tires do fit extra snug. Bit of lubricant such as WD40 in the bead area helps a lot. It's something else to carry but works well. They make the small cans that can be used for all sorts of things. About the size of the handlebar Jack. The other thing you can do but it's a PITA is...

New Trek Allant+ 8S owner - have some questions

FWIW this is the Racktime "system" using a top bag. The bag locks into place using the rails attached to the bag. Super quick on - off but no where near the carrying capacity of the paniers.

Known Issues & Problems with Trek Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

We have two Allant 7's. One is a stagger and one traditional. Plus a Trek Rail 7. The bikes have been great for going on a 8 months. I enjoy working on and maintaining them myself. One issue I've been made aware of is the chain ring lock nut. On the mountain bikes these have been coming...

New Trek Allant+ 8S owner - have some questions

Bet it works great with those bags. Ortlieb is qualtiy gear. Think many people don't realize that rack is made mainly for painer application. Assuming that's what you're using?

New Trek Allant+ 8S owner - have some questions

Not so much a fan of the Zouma rack on the 8's. Nor a fan of mounting the phone on the handlebars. The Racktime on the 7's is a bit more versatile IMHO although you do need to buy a mounting bracket for a rear bag to make it really functional. Racktime makes good stuff. Jealous of your 625...

I carry one of these since our bikes have a controller, bell and maybe a GPS device or other - It's called The Handlebar Jack. Well made and easy to use. Doing it first in your garage or home is a good idea. 5mm hex key is required along with good set of tire levers...

    Allant +7 / +7s rear drive hub (maybe +8 & +8s)

This is the hub as stated on Treks web cite, Bontrager alloy, sealed bearing, 6-bolt, 135x5mm QR. Think it's the same for both 7 and 8's. Does anyone know how to get it off the axle? Not sure if the bearing need to be removed first or not. I've done this on my Trek Rail 7 but the Allant...

    Bosch 2022 updates

Yes, the eMTB crowd also wished the larger battery would fit in their bikes but alas, it's not to be. As for the controller, those can be interchanged and or upgraded but takes bit of work for you or your LBS.

    Electric Motors Prohibited

That bites and I'd do exactly as you mentioned, "motor is OFF." That's what my wife and I do on most bike trails that are flat anyway. There's too many people, kids, walkers etc., so what's the deal. You pay for those paths just like anyone else. Use common sense and see what happens. That's...

Hello from Everywhere! Friends and Visits?

First off, my wife and I LOVE London! First visit in fall of 2019 pre-VID. Had the time of our lives there. I'd sit out on the street in the early morning watching all the bikers going to work. It's a biking world almost on level with Amsterdam. Well, not quite but still very serious! I've...

Hello from Everywhere! Friends and Visits?

Great story. Spent many weeks working in and around Bakersfield. Really enjoyed my time there but boy has it grown. I'm from So CA but live in Nor CA now. What I enjoyed most about Bakersfield were the people. It was more ag back then but it's a gateway to many wonderful places, hidden...

I want to upgrade: Specialized Turbo Vado vs. Trek Allant?

Purchased two Allant 7S in July. Had to search the area for inventory and drive about 60 miles but it was well worth the effort. I'm seeing quite a few high end Trek eMTB's being delivered but not so for the Allant's. My wife got the stagger and mine is the standard model. We love these...

    Intro From St. Louis

Not your first rodeo I see 🤣 Definitely have the N. CA thing well in hand👍 We were just in Santa Barbara and Ventura for week of riding but that was before getting the eBikes. Weather and conditions have been next to perfect. Enjoy Pismo but keep that sand off your chain!

Known Issues & Problems with Bike Friday Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

@kjacobson like yourself we've had couple of BF NWT for about 15 years. Bulletproof little folders we've taken on extensive trips. One just two weeks ago. Since we'd just recently purchased two eBikes I'd never even given BF a thought until browsing this forum. Bit late for us but I'd be...

Hello from Everywhere! Friends and Visits?

@Court I think Trek should pay you royalties! It was your review of their Allant+7 that sold us on it. You're so well spoken with super communication skills, and obviously have a passion for all things eBike. Didn't realize this was your web domain until posting my first message. Now that...

Hello from the Biggest Little City

@JLCGreen we had a similar experience but didn't have to drive quite as far. Availability of many bikes and accessories are sketchy at best. With things going the way they are it was smart to grab what you wanted while you can. Spend lots of time in NV for fun and enjoy the open space and...

    Intro From St. Louis

You picked a nice place to vacation. eBikes in and around Marin is pretty sweet fun. We're across the lake from you in the east bay. Have you taken the trek across the Golden Gate? It's a unique experience!

    Hello from Minneapolis!

Great looking ride @Ebeniste but you really stabbed me in the heart by mentioning the Norton! Been in love with them since a teenager. Actually thought I'd end up with an EV moto before the ebike but my wife has been chomping at the bit for these since we rented couple on holiday. So far I'm...
