Have you gone over the bike, to make sure the sensor isn't mucky or accidentally come loose/broken some how? Maybe try losing it, and adjusting it, then retighten it? Other than... Did you buy it online or at a store? Online? Call or visit e-joe website and contact them, someone will be able to...

If you see them at Interbike, try to record something with that bike on demo day.. they don't have any videos so I don't believe they have a working prototype. idk though... I like to see things working instead of just reading about how theoretical they are.

1st things 1st. Check the legal age limit to use an electric/motorized vehicle. In my state, CO, you have to be 16 years old to operate any vehicle with any type of motor. Here's an option. Remember you get what you pay for, but if you can get something to tide you over until tax return or you have saved up, than that is your best option. This kit is like 470$.
