Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

These are from a few different rides over the last several days. The first is a shot of a private lake/pond a few miles from the Duke University Lemur Center. The south has lots of views like this and I always feel like dinosaurs are just off in the background. Jordan Lake has been something...

    touring strategies

For some time, I've been planning to do a credit card tour from the RTP area in North Carolina to Knoxville, Tennessee (roughly 350 miles according to Boogle maps' bike routes). I'm hoping to average a little over 70 miles/day and will be relatively lightly loaded (tools, change of clothes or...

Using a spare Bosch Powerpack 500 battery-Anyone tried it?

I have two Bosch 500 batteries, but I have yet to try carrying the second battery. I get 60-70+ miles per charge riding mostly in eco (it's fairly flat here 800 ft. of climbing in 30+ miles). With the shutdown/social distancing, I haven't had occasion to go further than that in a day. I...

Help choose a sub-$4000 bike for 30 mile round trip commute in SoCal (Purchased Trek Allant+ 7S!)

Trek dropped it about a year ago, but the Crossrip+ would probably meet your needs. I'm not sure there are too may other class 3 drop bar bikes from a mainline company that are under 4k.

    e-bike model popularity

Quite possible. Weird thought that the most popular e-bike in the world isn't even available in the U.S. While there seem to be some folk in the U.S. using an e-bike to get to work, I'd guess the number of people here using an e-bike for work is quite small. Cargo bikes definitiely seem like...

    e-bike model popularity

Interesting, that surprises me. The local "brand" stores have told me that their e-bikes outsell their conventional bikes. If it's as low as 2 a month, I assume they'd be out of business. The price difference between "name" bikes and new brands though is pretty steep. Had no idea that Rad...

    e-bike model popularity

I've heard that e-bikes sold by the major bike companies dramatically outsell the "newish" e-bike companies. Are there public sales figures somewhere? fwiw there are roughly 100 Pedego stores vs. 17000 Trek stores, though those stores sell a lot of conventional bicycles.

    e-bike model popularity

Thanks, but I"m not sure the number of messages in a thread is necessarily an indication of how many members own that particular bike. It might, however, be as good any measure we might have.

    e-bike model popularity

simple question, but I've never seen an answer. What's the single most popular/best selling e-bike model ever? maybe some model of the Pedego? but that would be US only. What's the single most popular e-bike model and brand on this forum? It's clearly not one of the e-bikes I've...

    Battery died ( I think)

sometimes, it's something as simple as the battery coming out of its cradle (even by a little bit) and disconnecting. It happened to me once. In the meantime, I'd clean the connectors on both sides.

Moving to a regular bike from e-bike

Assuming you have room for both, I'd keep the e-bike. I use my e-bike the majority of time, but still ride my traditional bikes for various reasons; I find that both kinds of bikes have their uses. The e-bike is great for riding with much faster riding companions, long hilly day trips, etc...

30 Chinese Cities are on Level 1 lockdown

As Chancelucky2 points out, the current death count is over 7500 more than you posted. That's about 8 hours worth of cancer deaths. Absolute best case scenario is we are peaking at about 1/3 of the daily death rate of cancer with about 6 weeks of wind down ahead of us. Actually, his source...

e-bike battery prices are not coming down

Unfortunately, e-bike batteries have taken a very similar path to laptop batteries. For a variety of reasons, instead of agreeing on some standard configurations, the industry went proprietary. In the case of laptops, it even went non-user-replaceable in many cases. One result is that it...

30 Chinese Cities are on Level 1 lockdown

I went to Worldometers. info. org (your source) and it's listing the number of deaths by coronavirus as 107,000 plus since January. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ note the huge jump in reported deaths since March 25. The seasonal flu count is 137,000 (I assume this count excludes...

    Thoughts while riding my Domane+

Turbo is kind of fun, but I almost never use it because it takes too much battery. I definitely wouldn't mind a setting in between eco and tour.

    No more flats

I looked at the reviews of the Tannus Armours and all of them were for riders using MTB tires. I happen to have 32mm road tires. I know they make them for narrower higher pressure tires, but does anyone have experience with the Tannus Armours with road tires?

    No more flats

Thanks all for the suggestions! Replaced the tube this morning. I had filled it some the evening before, ridden 3 miles, and let the bike sit overnight. When I checked it in the morning, the tire was completely flat again. I'm not that mechanically inclined and there's something about fixing...
