There probably is a difference. Is your display color? Mine is the 2020. I’m fine with how the PAS works but I did notice a difference between my flow and the 500.

The reason you should install the fender first is it's hard to tighten the fender down if the tire spokes are in the way. It's hard but not impossible. Don't ask me how I know this. It isn't like I made this mistake twice on both of my Flows........

Yes. On my first bike I mounted it in front of the fork and it’s a bit wobbly. If you mount it on the backside of the fork the flat piece stop at the top of the fork and the angle of the light provides additional support.
