    Announced: Yamaha Civante - 28mph

Was literally ready to walk in and put down 7k for a Domane+HP to use as a commuter when the lockdown happened and suddenly I'm work from home for the rest of the year. This looks like a substantially better deal. Half the price of the Domane and only 5 lbs heavier!

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

Same situation here. This bike would be perfect for my wife if it was a bit more feminine. I’d buy this tomorrow in a low step. Would be amazing to ride together for a change.

    2 Bricked Bosch Powerpacks

This is possibly not helpful but I had an electric mower, trimmer etc. with an bunch of batteries and they all died before warranty and got replaced. These all died as well and I eventually realized any battery charged on a specific charger would eventually die. I stopped using that charger and...

My first e-bike (Turbo Creo SL Comp Evo)

I was also under the impression the creo only doubled your power at max assistance. The official copy plastered on retailer sites seems to indicate only 100%. “The lightweight SL 1.1 motor doubles your effort with as much as 240 watts of silent and powerful assistance to amplify your ride”

Creo Carbon Comp SL Motor Error

Also interested. Seemed like it took specialized forever to work out the issues with their Vado engines. I really want a Creo but am nervous about spending this much on a first generation product.

    R&M Supercharger 2-pic. added

I hear you. Waiting months for a bike would drive me insane.

Creo SL Comp Carbon EVO vs SL Comp Carbon?

I've ridden the evo in a short 15m test ride. The location of the dropper post switch was annoying and I've not heard much love for the feature so far from others on this site. I liked the flared bars but not enough to make it a deal clincher. Otherwise the bikes are identical and a tire swap is...

2020 28mph e road bikes: Specialized Creo vs 2020 BH Core race 1.6 vs Trek Domane + HP vs Bulls Desert Eagle ?

@Flnx - Sounds like we are pretty similar. I'm also a pretty big guy and would be getting a 60 for the Trek HP vs. an XL for the Creo. I preferred the look, philosophy and feel of the Creo but the real-world practicality of the HP is hard to deny. I can't charge the bike in my company's bike...

    Allant - Bosch Smartphone Hub

I tested the Allant+ and the hub worked fine on my iphone11 pro max (the bigger one). I had the Apple silicon case on my phone but didn't try it without the case.

Trek domane LT vs Trek Domane HP

Yes... new wheel in SF is surrounded by some crazy hills.... Bradford st nearby is a hard-to-believe 41% grade (picture below, didn't try this one)

Trek domane LT vs Trek Domane HP

I haven't tried the Trek Domane LT but I did test ride the HP and Creo a few days apart. I also test rode the Allant+ from Trek and my feeling was that the HP was kind of a half-way mix between the Creo and Allant. The Creo really felt like a road bike. It was minimal with virtually no controls...

Are you telling me you are carrying the spare battery in a backpack?!

Man you are right. Somehow doubled the value then to top it off rounded up when adding the builtin and dropped a zero (and yeah, wh no kWh). Hope no-one I know sees this funky math.

Are you telling me you are carrying the spare battery in a backpack?!

Tested a specialized turbo creo sl carbon comp evo yesterday (wtf with these names!). One of the coolest parts of the Creo design is their tiny (160kwh) range extender batteries designed to fit into a water bottle cage. They are small but carry-on legal and quick to swap in the field. Anyway...

2020 28mph e road bikes: Specialized Creo vs 2020 BH Core race 1.6 vs Trek Domane + HP vs Bulls Desert Eagle ?

One more addition. As negative as my post above sounds I may actually buy the Dimane+ HP. It might be the most well balanced bike out there for 2020 among the big bike retailers. It’s lightish at 38lbs but still has a decent battery (vs creo/giant). The light system is fully integrated and 1000...

2020 28mph e road bikes: Specialized Creo vs 2020 BH Core race 1.6 vs Trek Domane + HP vs Bulls Desert Eagle ?

Did a short road test of the new trek domane+ hp yesterday. Seems like essentially the same bike as the 2019 domane+. Kiox display instead of purion and they added a kickstand but otherwise, same battery, same lights, same weight, same speed. I think they updated to the latest Bosch motor which...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

Is the Creo motor louder than the Vado? I've never heard it in real life but on YouTube the motor seems louder than I expected for such a stealthy e-bike. Vado 5 vs. Aluminum Creo looks like a hard decision.

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

This style of bike makes a lot of sense in europe and fulfills a real need. Assist on hills and during acceleration with no extra weight penalty while cruising on manual power. It’s perfect for high speed commuting in countries with lower assist speeds. In the US you can just use a 70lb fat tire...

    Allant+ 9.9S Trigger Shifter-Ongoing, unresolved..NOW, somewhat resolved

I’m doing the same comparison. Test rode an Allant+ 8s right after a supercommuter 8s and didn’t notice anything odd about the shifting. Haven’t tried a 9.9s yet.

    New Vado 5

You are correct. In the US the Vado 5.0 has the Supernova V521s (205 lm) light. Interestingly the lower spec Vado 4.0 has a 300 lm light. 205 lm seems too low for a speed commuter to me honestly.

    Allant Smartphone Hub deficiency

I was concerned due to this post and checked the fit for my iPhone 11 max in the Trek shop today. Fit fine in the Smartphonehub on an Allant+ 8s. I had the apple silicon case on my phone as well. I’ve gotten used to the larger phone not fitting in things so was pleased that it worked. Sucks if...
