    Clipless or Platform Pedals?

Huh. I guess because ebikes are usually thought of in a commuting capacity, clipless pedals aren't brought up very often. People don't want to have to change shoes at their destination. They would certainly make sense for exercise rides/mountain biking. I would imagine you could go CRAZY...

    Custom wood fenders and accents

I found this amazing handmade fender page the other day. http://www.woodysfenders.com These are going to make any bike look incredible.

    Stomer ST2 teaser splash page

Yep! And I'm sure the ST2 isn't going to be that much. I'm betting on closer to 6k based on the ST1 franc/dollar pricing ratio.

Eesh, out of my price range. Maybe I'll start with a Falco conversion then. They've got a smartphone app too. Or I can fit some cool headlights on my ST1... Actually, my German buddy told me our ST1 was cheaper than the Swiss ST1 and looking at the website that's pretty accurate...

    Got beer?

That's nuts. You must have been booking' it! How far over the limit did he have you? If you had the growler holder, you could have just offered him some beer. Or better yet, fill it with oil and use it as a Bond car oil slick to shake the cops. You should frame the ticket. I haven't seen a...

Mark, you're clearly a more thoughtful, logical, and practical man than me. My inner-child is envisioning something akin to this right now: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)

    Bergamont E-line CMGN

Could you demo both of them? I'd say it really comes down to personal taste. I've only tried the 250 watt bosch on a Haibike thinking it was going to be the bee's knees, and wasn't absolutely blown away. They're pretty loud, which is a turn off for me, and I didn't find the power to be any...

    11t freewheel/cassette = go faster.

Pretty sure a 9 speed setup shouldn't be a problem on the Cross, though it might be getting a little tight. The Race is going to allow more flexibility, though I guess you can only get a large with a cross? You can see how they have manipulated the frame to accommodate a 10 speed on the Race...

    11t freewheel/cassette = go faster.

Hey Andrew. You can use pretty much any component cluster with any ebike assuming it's using a standard bicycle drivetrain. So not with something like a Stealth bomber, but any BH, Currie, Pedego, etc. is going to work. We have a guy here that put Dura Ace on a Neo Race. :)

    11t freewheel/cassette = go faster.

A 7 spd epoch is going for about $32 on amazon. Procedurally, not very difficult, but it does require the proper tools (chain whip, vice, properly sized freewheel removal tool). It can be frustrating if the freewheel is really torqued down as unscrewing it can make it feel like you're ripping...

    11t freewheel/cassette = go faster.

Lots of ebikes, especially sub $2000 bikes, are geared more for hills, but become difficult to pedal around 20 mph due to high pedal cadence. If you're finding yourself having to pedal at ridiculous speeds to get over 20 then getting an 11t freewheel/cassette is a quick way find more speed...

Do you actually USE the gears on your e-bike?

With torque sensors, I use every gear I have. Mind you, I live in a hilly city and like to ride in low assist, but even in power/boost mode I'm constantly shifting the rear derailleur. It keeps things speedy, efficient and fun. With cadence sensors I'm generally shifting between two speeds...

Serious commuter - time to go electric??

That Long Haul Trucker is fantastic. Are you thinking of converting it? Bionx conversions are great for maintaining the bike-like feel, but your speed isn't going to increase too much. As a serious rider, you're going to want to stay away from throttles (like Court said about the SIMMB)...

Stromer ST1 Review - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Awesome review, Gus! What fenders/rack did you use? I'd like to find a low cost alternative to the city kit, but the lack of braze ons is a pain. Do you have a pic that we could see? Perhaps in front of Los Pollos Hermanos?

    Are ebikes dangerous?

Found this the other day: http://www.ebikes.ca/documents/Ebike_Energy.pdf EBIKE VS. MAN Obviously, I'd wait for a more reputable study to start arguing that Ebikes are more efficient bicycles, but it's a fun read. You can follow up more with his sources.
